Is it possible for Brady to either not throw long or actually connect?
I think Lafell could had made a play on that one. Lafell has been pretty bad lately.

Sorry for the delayed reply.  Lafell had 2 steps -- a decent throw would have done the job.

Offense is useless. Defense needs to win this one for us. Force a turnover...

Pats have been hanging in this game by their fingertips all day.

That last play makes me ill.

Pats defense has gotten worked on this drive.

About time.  Dolphins have outplayed the Pats today.   I am OK with #2 seed if that how it turns out.

That TD could be game. Tons of time left but I have no faith in this offense. At least we have a bye and will get our team back for the playoffs

Well, I hope they like the air at Mile High, because they certainly worked hard to earn another trip there.

In other related news, Ryan Fitzpatrick just ended the Jets' season in the most Fitzpatrick way possible.

Agreed. But it still had enough air for Lafell to make an adjustment.

Following Denver's 4th (!) turnover, SD finally manage a field goal after starting their drive from DEN28. Still down 7-6.  ::) ::) ::)

Given how weak the AFC has been this year, there's really just no excuse for the Pats to end up with the number two seed.  Injuries or not.  They could have and should have won the last couple of weeks.

When was the last time the Pats totally backed into the playoffs?  I think maybe it was 2009 when they got destroyed on Wild Card weekend.

Cs losses to Lakers and Nets, Pats losing to the Dolphins. Tough last few days to be a fan

Don't forget the abomination that the Bruins have been during their last few games. This week was awful for Boston fans all the way around.

As for the Pats, I'm bummed they lost today but can't say I'm surprised they did. Despite what they say, there's no way they gave it 100% today—but I don't blame them for being conservative, given the rotten injury luck they've had. I really do think their general plan for a while has been to get as healthy as possible as soon as possible, and if that means sacrificing the No. 1 seed, then so be it.

That said, I'm not feeling great about New England's chances. They usually struggle after two-week layoffs, and Edelman didn't get a chance to shake the rust during the end of the regular season. And even if NE has all its receivers in good form come the playoffs, it's anybody's guess how well the O-line will hold up. Time will tell.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

Bengals D-Line is gonna dominate the Pats next week.

Going to require a herculean effort from Gronk and a major comeback off injury from Edelman to pull one out.
