Agreement "nearing" being reached. Sorry for jumping gun. Seems it will happen if Woj reported though.

The Celtics and Grizzlies, sources said, have been exchanging trade proposals on Green for some time, with Memphis believed to be offering the $7.7 million expiring contract of Tayshaun Prince and a future first-round pick to Boston in exchange for him.

This isn't true.  Not yet.  Just reports say it's close.

I'm not seeing that on Twitter.

Good! I like MEM and will like them even more with JG there.

He is going to absolutely LOVE those outlet passes from Marc...he is one of the best passing bigs in the game.

Doesn't sound official yet.

"nearing agreement" =/= "agree to trade"

I usually get annoyed when posters do a 180 and vilify a player ten seconds after he's traded. That said: Good riddance Jeffrey. I don't think he's a bad person but he noticeably sulked the instant Rondo was dealt and that strikes me as unprofessional. I'm glad we got something for him, but I'm also glad he's gone. That said, I hope Memphis wins the West and he plays a role in that.

Per Woj: Boston is nearing an agreement to send Jeff Green to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and a first-round pick, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Danny got a first (likely to become two second rounders) for Wright. Now Prince & a first for Green. I'm happy with that.

Bass is likely next. Send him to Toronto for Hayes & a 2nd rounder...

Trade Nelson & Thornton too if we can find a taker before waiving them.

Right.  That is not the same thing as the OP's statement of "agreement reached."

Want Rondo to win, but would prefer for the Mavs to stink it up for that pick. Am I a bad person for hoping that of one of my favorite players?

Right.  That is not the same thing as the OP's statement of "agreement reached."

True, but it seems like Ainge is basically trading everyone. Which does lead to believe Green may not be traded today, since Young is inactive still.

I posted this in the other thread.  I'm not sure how the protections could work... they already have a heavily protected pick going to Denver.

How do we get a 1st from them if they already have a heavily protected 1st going to Denver.

Someone figure this out...

Quote
2015 first round draft pick to Denver
Memphis' 1st round pick to Denver (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-5 and 15-30 in 2015, 1-5 and 15-30 in 2016, 1-5 in 2017 and 1-5 in 2018 and unprotected in 2019 [Cleveland-Memphis, 1/22/2013; Cleveland-Denver, 1/7/2015]
Read more at http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed#CsCrCAGY5EQ6A8Cc.99

So how could they send us a 1st?  It's would have to be some weird protection... something like this?

2015 Draft:  1-5 = Memphis keeps it, 6-14 = Goes to Denver, 15-30 = goes to Boston

Then depending on what happens it will have to roll over into 2016... so if it goes to Denver this year and maybe the rest of the protection they had given to Denver goes to us:  Protected 1-5 and 15-30 in 2016, 1-5 in 2017 and 1-5 in 2018 and unprotected in 2019

Does that make sense to anyone else or am I crazy?

That would be a good team for him,  Contender with good player s , Conley is a good dude .

Would be a nice place for Jeff to land.

Jeff Green had one of the worst plus and minus on and off court on the team.

He always played like it was preseason.
