Smart and Top 5 protected 1st for McLemore

Offer Bradley, Wallace, and Olynyk for a true Center and backup G. (Ex. Pekovic and MoWilliams for Wallace, Oly and picks?)

Rondo, McLemore, Green, Sully, Pen
MoWill, Bradley, Turner, Bass, Zeller
SOLID. IMO
It is a tall order to downgrade our roster. Congratulations, you managed.

Hahahahahaha.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

He is not getting traded, but he is a FA. So....dont really get the point of this thread. No one is giving anything up for a guy they can get in FA. Why dont some of yall understand this simple notion?

Where do I say trade?

He's getting outplayed by most PGs in the league right now. I love the guy, favorite player... but his stock is super low

Or Smart could work his value up to land us a Carmelo Anthony or Roy Hibbert ?

get  out here man. Smart is the future.

I like him a lot too , but we still couldn't run the offense through him to close out the game . He isn't at that level yet, not to say he can't get here. For now he will be an awesome presence off the bench . Rondo is still a top level PG , and better at running the offense .

Smart didn't get the call from BS to take the shots.  I wish they would of given it to him at times.

That rebound out of nowhere was amazing.  The boxouts on Gortat was amazing . I mean what guard can even do that

Rondo. Lol.

Rondo gets rebounds in open space, but he doesn't have the strength to stop Gortat dead in his tracks like Smart did. After all Smart has about 50 lbs on Rondo.

I find it hard to believe that a PG can average close to five boards over the course of his career and have all of them come in open space. I can recall a number of Rondo rebounds in which he's been within point blank distance of a big man and either out-jumped, out-"lengthed," out-"big hands-ed," etc. the opposing center to grab the rebound. True, Rondo cannot box out an NBA center, but this is a really petty point. Neither Smart nor Rondo will be situations to even do so often enough for that point to have any relevance.

TP for fine combination of humour with common sense.

Thank you good sir. TP for being a funny, smart fellow who doesn't have enough TPs. I think you'll like the thread I'm about to start.

Just follow the bolded sequence....

Seriously now, if we want a team where guards are the best rebounders, let's trade Sully for MCW.
Smart, RR and MCW will combine sthg like 18 rebs per game  ;D
(I would still not bet my money on any of them being able to block out Gortat though)

I think we're finding out that Smart can run this team. Which is what we needed to find out.
His energy, toughness, and defense are contagious.
As he gets more experience and confidence, his game will continue to develop.

Yes. This was a very big game for Smart. Not only did it get him through his tentative return from the ankle sprain, but it also was a big step in reinforcing his confidence and getting him to the next level. The team had been struggling to find heady players in the clutch from among those with 3-8 years in the league. Looks like their 20yo rookie is ready to contribute there almost from the start.

Also a big game for KO. He racked up more minutes than any other player (off the bench!) and the game finally turned when he finally fouled out after more than 40 minutes. This was his second aggressive game in three--that's at least progress toward a habit.

Smart may be the future but that future is a long ways away. If you think Smart just went toe to toe with Wall and like just came up short or something you are completely wrong. Wall just played in two full games back to back and the 2nd one was double OT and he still got the best of Smart. Smart had far fresher legs and was having a good game.

Smart cannot pass or run an offense like Rondo, and for all his athleticism he can't rebound like him either, and he isn't all that good a shooter.

Smart isn't going to surpass Rondo by the end of the year or something.

We are lucky to have Smart as opposed to Noah Vonleh or possibly even Dante Exum, but Smart has a long ways to go.

so tell me, why was Rondo dead tired tonight, while Wall who also played yesterday was able to play at a high level??

rondo knew the wizards were going to come at us with fire and he couldn't fight back.
Stevens didn't leave players out there because he thought they were better. They were fighting hard, learning, and had earned the right to win or lose. He left Thornton out there too. Doesn't mean he thinks Thornton is better than Avery Bradley or something. Sully didn't play much at the end either. Doesn't mean Stevens is enamored with B Bass.

TP. Nothing good old common sense. We need this after yesterday's emotional rollercoaster

we should add as tommy devotees that the last two fouls called on Kelly were suspect…the one on old friend paul pierce was complete  :-X  .  Paul touched ko's leg and flopped.  Poor call by official

I thought it was great to see KO play well, smart to step up, turner very good game (and he worked at defense).  Nice TEAM job, rondo, bradley and sully were not on and the bench guys did a great job.  (kudos to unmentioned bass, green, zellerJ)

Can we maybe have a special archive for threads like this to refer back to, as a public service to folks who might want to write reactionary stuff like this?

We can stick this right next to the one that said we'll lose every game for the rest of the year because every single team will just play a 2-3 zone and we'll never beat it.
