Or Smart could work his value up to land us a Carmelo Anthony or Roy Hibbert ?

get  out here man. Smart is the future.

I like him a lot too , but we still couldn't run the offense through him to close out the game . He isn't at that level yet, not to say he can't get here. For now he will be an awesome presence off the bench . Rondo is still a top level PG , and better at running the offense .

Smart didn't get the call from BS to take the shots.  I wish they would of given it to him at times.

That rebound out of nowhere was amazing.  The boxouts on Gortat was amazing . I mean what guard can even do that

Just a thought. Given that we are running with precedents, how do we know Smart isn't the new Kendrick Perkins, or even Al Jefferson? An Ainge pick, developed into a fan favourite the flipped for talent elsewhere? Just asking.

I think we're finding out that Smart can run this team. Which is what we needed to find out.
His energy, toughness, and defense are contagious.
As he gets more experience and confidence, his game will continue to develop.

You think Smart is a lightweight in the rebounding department?

Listen i know your huge Rondo fan.  He is older and still not 100 percent healthwise. May never be. Signing him to a 4 or 5 year deal near max is going to return is , what 2 years of whatever max he is capable of. Then Smart is going to outhustle, out play etc.   (if he isn't already)

Smart is the future. There is no way around this really.

Smart may be the future but that future is a long ways away. If you think Smart just went toe to toe with Wall and like just came up short or something you are completely wrong. Wall just played in two full games back to back and the 2nd one was double OT and he still got the best of Smart. Smart had far fresher legs and was having a good game.

Smart cannot pass or run an offense like Rondo, and for all his athleticism he can't rebound like him either, and he isn't all that good a shooter.

Smart isn't going to surpass Rondo by the end of the year or something.

We are lucky to have Smart as opposed to Noah Vonleh or possibly even Dante Exum, but Smart has a long ways to go.

Because he's a guy you can win with.  They're not dealing him.

so tell me, why was Rondo dead tired tonight, while Wall who also played yesterday was able to play at a high level??

rondo knew the wizards were going to come at us with fire and he couldn't fight back.

I think it's more like bye bye Pressey.

Smart will eat his minutes and get his minutes extended when he's playing well like he did tonight.

I thought Smart's ankle was bothering him in the 2nd OT.  It seemed like he winced a couple of times moving laterally (you could see it in the replays)

This is what I think too. Smart's already better than Pressey in some, if not most, respects.

Those ESPN fakes had Exum as one of the top 5 producing Rookies. But I'm with you. I wouldn't want Exum and Vonleh over Smart.

give these kids some time. Exum with added strength and confidence is going to be a John Wall part 2.  End to end blur

Everyone made a good pick up to 6

I actually would like to see a back court of Rondo and Smart. Smart can't create or run offense as well, but he's a bull dog driving, and will be a great 14-18 scorer with 4 APG and few steals type of Wade lite.
