  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
He's getting what, $3 million per year?

He would be worth the money of he's a catch and shoot guy averaging 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists per game. Turner can be more than that.

This is an excellent signing. Very low risk and high reward potential.

There's no "fooling" going on here. It's not like we're paying him Jeff Green-level money. ET is a potential starter on this team and can be a rotation guy on a contending team. I'm pretty sure if he started the preseason with the Pacers last year (instead of being a last minute addition) and he didn't get into practice fights/chemistry issues, he would've seen more court time.

I'm pretty sure if he was better at basketball he would've seen more court time, too.

But he isn't. And he didn't. He'll play more in Boston because the expectations for the season are lower.

He already had the chance at this role and he failed miserably last year.

And so if a player is a last minute addition to a team (that is expecting said player to help them with a playoff push) then that player can get away with that as an excuse to fight in practice, cause issues with chemistry, and have a hand in imploding a contending team?

this is from july, but it might shed some light on turner's thinking nowadays.

RT @SteveBHoop: Evan Turner's agent, David Falk, says they wanted Celtics: "I think the deal here is secondary to the environment."

RT @GwashburnGlobe: Evan Turner's agent, David Falk, said the opportunity to play for Brad Stevens was one of main reasons for signing w #celtics

maybe turner wants to play in a more functional setting and maybe that setting will be what he needs to learn to play within his abilities. let's face it, he does have some outstanding skills and talents. so far he hasn't put it all together mentally or as a teammate in a consistent fashion.

maybe this is the place for him. if not, at only $3,000,000 a year the celtics can afford to carry him for a bit. turner seems to be a classic "low risk, high reward" sort of player. i hope he sees the light.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I'm genuinely looking forward to Turner and seeing what he brings to the table. We certainly need as many score first players as we can get.
the guy almost had a trp-dbl, second half was mosterous
he has tons of credit in my book, i've only saw him play the celtics(in that seven game series, and even in regular season games), and everytime he had a good/great game.
but it was the sixers we beat last night soo...

This is not a personal attack on Turner.

He is what he is, a guy that will have good games when he is the one controlling the ball, problem is he is not that good of a player to be doing that....so when he does do that with good players on his team, he becomes terrible.

He over dribbles, doesnt have great vision...maybe he gets assists and some good passes, but the reality is his vision isnt the best.

His shooting is basically non existant to erratic...

His size and athleticism allow him to put up some good numbers accross the board, assists, rebounds, points, so he is not useless

He is basically Paul Pierce without the offensive moves, skill, savviness, smoothness and smarts.

he looked his ridiculous self yesterday throwing up turnaround jumpers , which hit both of them , but he wont do that in the regular season.

After yesterday's game and probably the next and the next , he will prove my point.

The example shows what he is , the worst player on the court in +/- in many games

someone mentioned how he was a veteran leadership and he has played in a game 7 vs the Celtics before

well...

This and, for $3 million, I'm totally fine with it.

Geesh turner had another decent game. As far as verteran leadership goes. Yea he's only been i nthe league 5 years. Thats still long enough to provide example for rookies who last year were just college ball players that just turned into millionaire professionals. Game 7 is one game! Let the man live. Hes still playing better then your favorite Celtic

The kid out played Carmello for 3 million a year.  I'll take that to the bank and the court.
