The preseason roster setup i hope was communicated with CJ , CB. Kind of a bummer for those guys, especially if they had some offers from international teams but rejected them hoping to stay with the celts

If they did pass on offers, they were crazy. No way I would have if I were in their position, they would have had to be delusional not to see the writing on the wall (especially Babb). They weren't better than any player on our roster that was guaranteed (could fight for Press' spot but even then). They can't blame the Celtics if they did lose out on international money, better blame their agents and themselves.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

As you guys have said, Johnson might catch on with another team and weasel his way into the rotation still. He played almost 800 minutes last year, enough for every team to get a sufficient look at him.

He is like a vet. He plays hard, can hit the open 3, good defender, 7" wingspan

He is a candidate middle of the year to join a team when someone gets injured

Powell could be a stretch-five with three-point range, which is a nice thing to have.  The Celtics could be considering moving on from Faverani if they like Powell enough.  Some teams may find Faverani's unguaranteed 201-2016 salary to be attractive.

I thought his 3yrs were fully guaranteed?

Powell imo might have a better chance to be a backup SF than a PF. No way he will ever be able to play center in the nba (slim, narrow shoulders).  Powell could be backup SF/PF like Perry Jones for OKC. Good looking jump shot and has the height , high release, vertical leap to shoot over any sf not named Durant

addition: per scouting report, decent straight line ball handling capability, good passing skills, good defender that avg about 1.5 steals per game

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

When I first saw the video (have seen a couple more), I was going to ask earlier in this thread when they posted this if he could be used as a SF... I'm glad you brought it up b/c I forgot to.

This guy's only chance is as a stretch-4... so he needs to hit the gym big-time. Put him as a backup 3... yea good luck staying in front of an nba 3

Ainge still stacking assets. I just hope something big comes out of them.

Cavs have a chance to stack their roster even more next offseason. Ugh

Poor guy, try to see if he can have any use and all attempts are shut down by someone. Oh well, I want to see for myself in preseason.

-Powell, 22, averaged 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds during his senior season. His Stanford team eliminated No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins and Kansas from the NCAA tournament.

"In college, Powell could play small forward, power forward or center," said Musselman, who served stints as head coach of the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, and is entering his first season as an assistant coach at LSU. -

I kind of remember this game. Huestis and Powell and rest of Stanford did an excellent job on Wiggins.   Powell is a good defender and has very good lateral quickness to guard sfs in the nba. His best chance as of right now is to play as a SF and if he can add pounds/strength, transition over to the PF spot.  The big issue with this kid is he is a "behind the scene" kind of guy, when he has the tools to be more dominant.   Too perimeter oriented.  But the good news i'm reading now is that his jumpshot release is higher (from the workouts) than it was in college.

The kind of athlete/potential Danny used to like to draft, until he started drafting based on other criterias in the last 3 seasons.

Let's see what he can do in camp first.
