Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way.

To make it worse, it's looking like this is our roster for opening night.

Funny how we went from speculating about a big 3 of Rondo/Love/Melo to a starting lineup of Rondo/Bradley/Green or Turner/Sullinger/Zeller ???

Sure has been great for the Cavs though, who were basically gift wrapped everything this offseason on a silver platter.

I am still waiting on a Kevin Durant for Dion Waiters trade, any minute

It's been a great offseason.  Helluva draft, we got Zeller and a first practically for free, and didn't give out any crazy contracts to guys like Hayward who can't put you over the top.

Drafted well, got younger with Zeller and Turner, Olynyk's obviously been working on his game, and we landed yet another first rounder.  We're setting up the cap situation perfectly for the future.

Keyword being 'future'.  Ainge is building this thing the correct way.  He knows what he's doing.  Sit back, relax, and let it unfold.
tp for thinking like me  ;D

50 TP's takes, at a minimum, 50 hours.
It does?

As has been mentioned by other posters in this thread, any one that was speculating about a Rondo/Love/Melo team needs to seriously get in touch with reality.

I'll also make a gentleman's bet of $50 that the C's are going to make at least one of Rondo/Green/Bass will be traded before opening night.  The off-season isn't over yet.

I don't think that will be the case.

I think all 3 guys will be here opening night.

Rondo, I don't mind.

I am not his biggest fan nor am I necessarily a fan of his style of play, but I could also see us being a championhip contender again with Rondo at the helm as our starting PG.

Easy there Neo, I'm talking about normal denizens of the Matrix.

Danny got value out of it. He can't just reject a deal because of petty reasons and what were you expecting from the TPE? Kevin Durant?

No one would've been happy with only Kevin Durant for the TPE, come on.
laughed hard enough to almost choke on my own spit.  TP  for the near-death experience ;)

This is good, both in that you enjoyed it and that you didn't actually die of laughter.

I agree with everyone who mentioned the lottery being the main culprit. The reason it's been "lame" is that people wanted our first pick to either result in a star through the draft or through a trade. By ending up with the sixth pick, the Celtics could not entice Saunders on a Love trade and they also missed out on all the higher-potential prospects.

The biggest addition this offseason in Smart also seems underwhelming because he plays the same position as our biggest star. That just creates a lot of confusion and uncertainty as to the direction the franchise is going in.

Besides the fact that we didn't really obtain a star, the search for a rim protector is still ongoing. They really don't have anybody at this point so either they draft someone next year who will be ready sometime in 2018-2020 or they use their assets to acquire somebody.

Everybody grab a seat because rebuilding is going to take awhile... =(

And that's another frusturating part about this offseason.

I don't really know what direction this team is going in and I am not sure even Danny Ainge knows ???

Are we gearing up to be major players as soon as 2015 or are we in for a long, miserable rebuild?

Don't get me wrong, I HATE what Philly is doing, but at least you know where they stand.

I'm probably the opposite.  I like maintaining flexibility.  The Philly gambit is something that should be reserved for when you have no other options.  The Celtics still have plenty of options.

One thing I feel is that Ainge's Plan A involves Rondo/Bradley as the starting backcourt for the next 3-4 years.  This is subject to change if Rondo seems to have been diminished significantly after his injury or if Rondo can be moved for a better player to build around, but I think he sees them as a synergistic duo who are greater than the sum of their parts.

See, I think Rondo would be much better suited having a strong, outside shooter at the 2 as opposed to a streaky shooter like Bradley, because it would help make up for Rondo's offensive struggles.

Kelly Olynyk will not be a 20-point per game scorer -- ever. End of discussion.

And nobody is going to ask him to be.  He doesn't have to be for a team to win.

Having said that, I wouldn't say 'ever' when you're talking about this player.  He's not one to rest on his laurels.  He'll work, and work, and work.

So writing him off like you did with your statement is plain idiotic.  End of discussion.

I agree with OP

My prediction...of landing no stars many months ago......after his lame tanking screwup ....will lead to Rondo s trading....it's been a disaster ....started by the messed up close to last season.

All his other so called victories this off season ..DO NOT make up for the seasons tragic ending.

Because Danny let them win those games.....basically screwed the Celtic for the next FIVE seasons

So now the dummy is left with trading Rondo to rebuild.

The ONLY  hope I see ,  he screwed up not trading BAss snd Green dumping them last winter.

Is that LeBron fails in Cleveland .....if he can be stopped TWO years straight .....he might move on , and we would have a chance at winning.

So .....will Danny wait and see if a Cleveland destroys everybody and wins a title before trading Rondo?

Or will , he just say screw it ,  Cleveland can't be stopped for next five years and just fart around with draft picks .....waiting for LeBrick to break a leg or leave from failure

Some of you girls are going to be very surprised once the season begins.  You just don't understand the impact yet of adding players like Smart and Zeller.  Just because it isn't Love and Hayward doesn't mean they can't be impactful additions.

This offseason has been a great success so far, & it is just beginning.  Lots more work to do before the season begins.

What about the guys? What do we do? Or is this a shot at the perceived masculinity of the blog? If so, what are you trying to say about our female posters?

More importantly, I'm pretty sure the gloom and doom types have a pretty good understanding of the 'impact' that adding players like Smart and Zeller (you forgot Evan Turner) will have. I, for one, am predicting a massive 5 game upswing from last year.

I think you're underestimating how good of a shooter Bradley is now and sleeping on his potential to become an even better, more consistent shooter.
