The whole Rondo/Love/Melo speculation shouldn't have ever been seriously discussed considering there was absolutely nothing tangible linking Melo to Boston.

I think the whole love in Boston, seeing rondo was to show mello he might come, it just backed fired but we shouldn't get him before draft. I think the love in Boston really p---ed minny

But I can't hate what we're doin right now, it will get better its just when

And I think Minny is still bitter about the whole KG thing.

very very bitter, but I don't know why. Did they not get good value for KG? KG was nearing the end of his productive career when we got him, and we lost him for one half year and a whole playoff due to injury. Why are they so bitter?

Because we won a championship the first year he came over

Funny how we went from speculating about a big 3 of Rondo/Love/Melo to a starting lineup of

Did you really think that?   If you did, I feel sorry for you.  I thought we had about as much chance of that happening as snowball not melting in HECK.

So based on a lot of replys doing something makes the off-season not lame. Okay... pass the kool-aid and green shades.

I never liked Melo, I do not like his attitude, his D and I for one am glad we didn't get him.  I think Love is productive but not a leader and he plays bad D too.  Neither of these guys have been able to generate meaningful wins for their teams in the post season.

I just can't believe the Boston Celtics will ever win a draft lottery. We will just never have a number one pick, and that's our luck.

Some of you girls are going to be very surprised once the season begins.  You just don't understand the impact yet of adding players like Smart and Zeller.  Just because it isn't Love and Hayward doesn't mean they can't be impactful additions.

This offseason has been a great success so far, & it is just beginning.  Lots more work to do before the season begins.
What about the guys? What do we do? Or is this a shot at the perceived masculinity of the blog? If so, what are you trying to say about our female posters?

More importantly, I'm pretty sure the gloom and doom types have a pretty good understanding of the 'impact' that adding players like Smart and Zeller (you forgot Evan Turner) will have. I, for one, am predicting a massive 5 game upswing from last year.

Sometimes the gloom and doom types can be just annoying and unrealistic than optimists

#1 is nice but not mandatory.

Marcus Smart for all you know ends up becoming the best player out of the 2014 draft.

One optimist stated that he would only be slightly surprised if Boston made a legit run at the ECF. We would be quite lucky to make the playoffs. Some of the more pessimistic posters on this blog can be a bit too negative in their expectations, but I think they are more realistic than some optimistic posters here.

And one pessimistic poster said that Marcus smart is a bust and another said that rondo is a scrub I don't think the pessimists are more realistic than the optimist

Can we trade a championship and filler for Anthony Davis?

well, the celtics had the #1 pick in 1980, and traded it and the #13 for robert parish and the #3, which turned into mchale.

and they also had the number 2 pick in 1986. so its not as if the celtics have never had top picks.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Ahh, but in both instances, the picks were from other teams (Golden State, I think, and Seattle).  With our own pick, no, we have never won the lottery.  Sadly, the lottery machine just doesn't seem to like the sight of green.

Edit - the 80 pick was from Detroit.  How did I mix that up in my head?
