Celtics will and should pass on embiid.

I rather take my chances on randle

Randle had a broken foot in high school and is heading for foot surgery as well...Embiid is a much better prospect...

I will argue that Tufts, BMC, and MGH are top notch hospitals and have some of the BEST doctors in the US. My friend who practiced in one of those hospitals said they had a surgeon that was a big name doctor.
While this is probably true, it hasn't translated into team health  -- which makes it pretty much immaterial.

Yao Ming was a freak of nature.  How many 7'6 players have had long lasting NBA careers? Mark Eaton? Lol. Manute Bol?

Oden had a degenerative knee like Brandon Roy.  Their careers were virtually over before they started. (& teammates, bad drafting)

From what I hear Embiid's injury's are stress related and related to one another.  Proper rest and and conditioning should alleviate that extra stress on his body.

Also hasn't he only been playing for a couple years ala Fab Melo?

Throw in Boston's top notch medical team and it seems like a no brained to take him.

I'm hoping he falls to us  ;D

we really love to act like we have the best doctors in the world on this team, and the rest of the teams in the league are operating out of a 3rd world clinic.

Boston has the best doctors in the country. They don't work for the celtics though. Phoenix has the best NBA medical staff.

Good news music to my ears don't care about his injury at 6 you take that gamble 8)
I said it before... I'd be completely SHOCKED if Embiid falls out of the Top 4.
and pleasantly surprised.  :)
Not necessarily... Utah would take him #5.    The idea that Embiid is still there at #6 when we pick seems almost unfathomable.  And if he actually falls that far... you have to start to wonder what's in his medical records.  If it's that bad, he might just fall out of the lottery entirely.

Utah also has Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert at the center. It'll create a logjam if Embiid joins them. Also the only teams that had access to Embiid's medical records are Milwaukee and Cleveland. The others will be working blind.

Might as well go after Kevin Love if they want another PF!

Considering the large, wealthy market of Boston and the medical facilities, the Celtics medical staff should be second to none.

Trade Rondo to the Lakers or Kings and get both.  Draft Saric and in three years, watch out.

If Embiid is available at #6 and the Celtics pass on him, do you trust the judgement of Ainge and the Celtics medical staff to evaluate medical records that you are not able to see or will you be instantly outraged?

Yeah, he was confident about staying in this year and demanding to play for two teams only and then realized he was not going as high as he wanted or where he wanted and went to play in Turkey.   Give me a break, this guy got an eye opening during the workouts and is cutting his losses.   We should avoid him at all costs.

Not outraged but disappointed. Embiid's potential is only rivaled by Wiggins in this draft.

I would trust them over my own medical training.  :). I hope they take him though.  If he never plays again, I wouldn't blame them for taking the risk and would trust they made a calculated, informed decision.
