Yao Ming ring a bell to anyone.  Same injury and nothing to show for it.  Pass on Embiid.

If we could be assured of Yao Ming's career at pick #6, I'd do it in a second.

Ming was also a lot bigger and put more weight on those feet . Embiid is more like Ibaka size and athletic .

Anyone still feel that Embiid will wind up in Philly?

IMO....If Embiid gets cleared by the C's staff, they are crazy not to take him.  Once recovered he could be the best C in the NBA in 2 or 3 years.  When are the C's going to have access to that type of talent again?

Yao Ming isn't a good injury comparison considering how gigantic he is. 7-6 dudes that are built big just aren't going to recover from foot or knee injuries.

Embiid is only 20 years old, and his body is fantastically athletic (unlike Oden or Bynum). I think he will recover just fine.

Wait, what?!

Some people are grasping for straws here.

We'll know if his injury is bad if he's on the board at #6, (no chance at getting KLove) and Danny chooses NOT to grab him. I'm sure at that point he'll slip to the teens then.

Oden and Bynum weren't nearly as athletic as Embiid is

If hes there at 6 could be a little luck too not that his injury was THAT bad remember he didn't share his medical info with all the teams below us Orlando being one of them

a lot of wishful thinking on this board about Embiid when the truth is this kid is really a project.

A very intriguing project that could turn into a franchise center for the Celtics.
