Yes, it's Blakely...here's the link:

This actually makes me pretty angry at Danny. He easily could have tanked harder to get us a better chance at a top pick. He very easily could have released Humphries and Bayless who were unrestricted free agents. That alone could have gotten us a few more losses...
So he chooses not to follow in the tracks of ORL, PHI, and MIL telling us that he's not really crazy about this draft class. And now he's trying to land the #1 pick??? What changed?
Not only did choosing not to tank take us out of the running for Parker and Wiggins, it also is now making it more difficult to make a trade for Love.
At this moment, Danny not tanking harder is looking like a huge mistake.
How could he possibly have tanked harder than PHI? Or MIL?
Start the season with that as the priority (Just like PHI) and make moves during the season with that as the priority (just like PHI, et al)
Many advocated for this all season.
Oh, you mean fire sale all of the talent on the team for pennies on the dollar in a desperate attempt at the #1 pick? Not Ainge's style, never has been.
Didn't work out very well for PHI. They ended up #3, in a draft that's recently turned into a two-horse auction.
I was answering how Danny could have tanked harder than PHI and MIL . I don't think a fire sale was necessary. IMO if he released Bayless and Humph who aren't even ours and limited Rondo's pt we would have been more serious tankers.
That's certainly debatable, however. What's not debatable is that Danny didn't tank and stated that he wasn't impressed with the top of this draft.
Now he's struggling to trade for Love and looking to trade up for players he routinely said he wasn't impressed by (a position supported by his decision to not tank).
Very frustrating for fans who argued for a different course along the way.
Why didn't Danny realize that Wiggins and Parker were premium prospects? Why didn't Danny realize he was going to need a better pick to pry Love away from Minny?
1. Rondo did not help us win any games at all last season, so lets not use that as an excuse.
2. Danny traded Crawford. Had we kept him, we would have won 3-5 more games.
I think Danny did all he could to tank without making it blatantly obvious that we were tanking. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the ping pong balls.
