Blakely was on CSNNE right now and said that the offer would center around the 6 and 17 picks, along with Jeff Green. He also said the target is Wiggins.

They'd be nuts not to do their due diligence and inquire about the #1 pick.

I'd be absolutely shocked if the Celtics were able to trade into that top spot.  Incredibly shocked.

It would have to be a package like Golden State paid for Webber in '93 and that's under the assumption that CLE is actually interested in the uncertainty of first rounders rather than tangible talent (which wouldn't exactly be promising to what we could offer).

Or what if we flipped Green to the Hornets for 9 then say trade 6, 9, and Sully for 1. Still hold on to pick 17.

Get a hold of yourself. Nothing worse than getting caught up in an impulsive bidding frenzy.

Lol i know i am kinda losing it. All this draft talk has got me losing my marbles. I am sure Danny was making the call that every GM made.

Don't listen to NL, it's not like you can actually make anything happen, so go buckwild!  Who wants Rondo for a late 1st!

Yes, it's Blakely...here's the link:

This actually makes me pretty angry at Danny. He easily could have tanked harder to get us a better chance at a top pick. He very easily could have released Humphries and Bayless who were unrestricted free agents. That alone could have gotten us a few more losses...

So he chooses not to follow in the tracks of ORL, PHI, and MIL telling us that he's not really crazy about this draft class. And now he's trying to land the #1 pick??? What changed?

Not only did choosing not to tank take us out of the running for Parker and Wiggins, it also is now making it more difficult to make a trade for Love.

At this moment, Danny not tanking harder is looking like a huge mistake.

How could he possibly have tanked harder than PHI? Or MIL?

Would love for us to get the #1 pick and select Wiggins or Parker. I don't think we have the assets to get it done though. Unless we are willing to trade #6, #17, Green, along with 1 of the BKN picks.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Yea this is flat out wrong. We would have actually have had to win 8 more games to get the number 1 slot. So if we want to be ridiculous, let's say Ainge didn't win us enough games!

You mean, kind of what Ainge reportedly wanted to give MIN for Love?

I'm curious to hear why trading that package for Love is a bad idea, but trading it for a complete unknown is a good one.

He couldn't have.

He should've tanked less so he could've had CLE's chances and gotten the number one pick.

Start the season with that as the priority (Just like PHI) and make moves during the season with that as the priority (just like PHI, et al)

Many advocated for this all season.

The article seems to think we would take wiggins over parker

Why?  Why on earth would Danny take Wiggins over Parker?  Does he have a thing for athletically gifted but lazy players or something?

Oh, you mean fire sale all of the talent on the team for pennies on the dollar in a desperate attempt at the #1 pick? Not Ainge's style, never has been.

Didn't work out very well for PHI. They ended up #3, in a draft that's recently turned into a two-horse auction.

Sherrod is the simple jack of the NBA world. Never go full Sherrod. He needs to stop acting like one of the worst contracts in the NBA has actual value. One more blunder by Ainge.

Think that's what it would take to beat out Orlando's or Utah's offer. A Love-like package minus Sullinger and/or Olynyk. It would be very tempting. Wiggins and Parker are in a class of their own, far better prospects than anybody we could get at #6.

Smart/Exum>Wiggins/Parker

Gordon + 17 >>>>>>>>> Wiggins/Parker

Gordon + 17 + any other asset >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wiggins/Parker

Not interested in the top-2 picks. The only wise move would be a trade up for Smart/Exum if the price isn't too high. Otherwise, Gordon is good value at #6. All the better if Smart falls into their laps at #6.
