Mychal Thompson told 95.7 The Game said if he were the Warriors, he wouldn't trade Klay and hopes he stays. "I'm on my knees praying."

diamond83

This is an interesting situation with his dad getting in the middle of the media around the potential trade.  If Klay really doesn't want to go to Minn you would think that all he would need to tell is the GS front office, but if they want Love more than Klay then they probably don't give a blank if he works out long term for the Twolves.  Hmmm.

if the wolves want to build around klay thompson then they're crazy - thompson, lee, pekovic, + rubio is not even a playoff team, let alone a contender. klay is solid, but at no point watching him have i ever thought he was a superstar. i don't even notice him half the time he's on the court. the much-maligned kevin martin has similar numbers and a better PER than Klay - and folks are talking as though his $7M salary is through the roof. wolves are sentencing themselves to perennial mediocrity if they go this route. you need transcendent players to win at the top levels in this league, and the wolves strategy makes it unlikely they ever land that player.

I saw this posted somewhere else.  Thought it was pretty good for a fake trade scenario.  Obviously they'd probably want to keep KI over this but I like the Parker angle.  Would be a sick video game team.

Trade Kyrie and Bennett +salary matchers to Minny for Love
Sign Kyle Lowry
Draft Jabari Parker #1 overall
Find a defensive minded big to spell Love.

PG-Lowry
SG- Waiters
SF-Lebron
PF-Parker
C- Love

On Warriors/KLove: They have the hot commodity now (Klay T), and if they can squeeze extra pieces from MIN, that's the Art of the Deal...

timkawakami

GS wants more pieces lol ?
I hope Minny or GS screws this up

Sounds like Minnesota is well on their way to doing just that.  ???

Love is not a center.

Last tidbit on GS-Minny talks: Wolves want that first-rounder, but Warriors aren't very eager to include it. Thus, the situation still fluid

Celtics have the sixth pick that's way better than the Warriors.

Who knows where this information is coming from.  As Ford said, the T-Wolves are playing a game:  http://www.celticsblog.com/2014/6/19/5823714/nba-trade-rumor-via-chad-ford-wolves-are-playing-a-game-kevin-love

... Look, Danny, you have a boatload of assets.  The Wolves are playing a game with you.  I'm sure they are talking a lot, but pretending not to listen to you.  But you're the one with the best assets, Danny.  There's nothing you can do that can't be done.   Nothing you can say, but you can learn how to play the game.  It's easy.

nice. i see what u did there at the end.

though i'm sure love isn't all we need.  ;D though it sure does help!
Love is all you need... that and Asik, Affalo, LeBron James and Larry Bird stem-celled into his 20s.

They're talking about a first beyond the 2014 draft, since the Warriors' pick this year (and in 2017) belongs to Utah.  Golden State could trade away their 2015 pick in a deal done after the draft, though.

Especially considering the Warriors can't trade a 1st rounder until 2019, and have no second-rounders through 2018.  Draft pick compensation is not the Warriors strong suit.

That doesn't make any sense.  You're ready to give up Klay Thompson but are balking at a single draft pick that is 95% sure to be in the mid to low 20s at worst?

Mike

I am glad, GS and Minn could screw this deal up.

Nah, people always get this part of the Stepien Rule mixed up.  Teams are not allowed to trade future draft picks away in consecutive seasons.  Golden State traded their 2014 and 2017 picks last summer, so during the season, they couldn't do any deals involving first rounders before 2019.  However, once the 2014 draft passes, they'll have their 2015 and 2016 draft picks available.  They can then trade away their 2015 first rounder since they'd still have their 2016 draft pick (and thus wouldn't have consecutive seasons without firsts in the future).  The rule doesn't take into consideration whatever picks you traded in the past.  That's how the Lakers have managed to trade away their firsts every year from 2008 until this past season.

ok now so david lee plus thompson is probly the best offer they got so far

GS doesnt want to include a 1st rounder

so they probly throw in harrison barnes before they would the first rounder...

austin ainge says they value the top end of this draft/#6 pick..

ITS ALL FALLING TOGETHER
