Nik Stauskas jumps higher than Dante Exum.

Wow. That's pretty shocking to me. Trade up for Stauskas!

Is it completely and utterly ridiculous to think he got be a Stephen Curry type?

Per jay king at masslive (5/15/14) players Cs interviewed or are going to interview at combine

"Along with Stevens, Celtics figures in attendance included president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, assistant general manager Mike Zarren, director of player personnel Austin Ainge, and director of scouting Dave Lewin. Together, they interviewed or are expected to interview the following prospects (based on various reports and/or word from the prospects):

Kyle Anderson, UCLA
Dante Exum, Australia
P.J. Hairston, D-League/UNC
Gary Harris, Michigan State
Rodney Hood, Duke
Zach LaVine, UCLA
Doug McDermott, Creighton
Shabazz Napier, UConn
Julius Randle, Kentucky
Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State
Nik Stauskas, Michigan
Noah Vonleh, Indiana
T.J. Warren, N.C. State

The Celtics can interview five more players, as well, but their names have not been revealed."

Nothing earth shattering here. Interesting that Napier is the only guy interviewed unlikely to go in the lottery (Harris (post measurements, and Lavine are boarder line).

Last year Danny interviewed a bunch of guys -- and had others in for workouts -- that weren't projected anywhere near where his #16 pick was.   Several of them were predected to not even being drafted -- and were not.   He drafted one of those guys (Iverson) with a purchased 2nd round pick and signed another (Pressey) as an undrafted free agent.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

To clarify, he had a higher running jump by an inch, but lower standing jump by 2.5 inches.

Yes. But I love the optimism.

There were reports Cleveland may have been interested in Green, any chance they'd trade down to 17 for him?along with Bennett (Assuming they've given up) and either Miles or Gee?

*edit, extremely interested in Stauskas post measurements.

It seems that for guards, the running jump is more significant.  I think a standing jump measurement means more for a big who is expected to finish with dunks off drop offs and block shots off two feet.

My hope is that we can give them Green straight up for Deng in a sign-and-trade, since Deng isn't staying in Cleveland.  (Obviously Deng has to come to Boston, but I think we can sell him on that).

His health should be better, but other than that I'd have to say yes. Definitely

my gut instics tell me Danny will draft lavine at 17 if he is still available. Too much athleticism, upside not to take a risk . Plus a good insurance at the pg spot if Rondo is gone

I am a HUGE NC State fan and TJ Warren fan, but I did NOT know that he is LIKELY to go in the lottery:-))  I say he won't.

Smitty77

I would say that Anderson, Hood, Stauskas, and Hairston are all borderline as well.

I should have worded my statment "around the lottery". Point is most of those guys are top 20 picks and in the range of the Cs #17 except for Napier.

Also want to point out Markel Brown has a 43.5" max vertical! I like his comp of  explosiveness and 6'8.75" wingspan. I could see him as a solid role player in a TA mold. Not as big and strong as TA but still a nice bench piece.

Zach Levine has killed the tests today .  He's been talked about as a late teens to mid-20's guy, but don''t be surprised if he creeps up to the lottery.  Explosive jumping (41.5 inch max vert), and top-tier agility.

On the other hand, anyone watching Lavine play saw a kid with elite athleticism. The physical tests aren't telling anyone anything new about him.

I bet his interviews are more telling about what teams are really concerned about - his IQ.

Exum with our first pick and Levine with our second would be an exciting backcourt to watch for years to come.
