Huge fan of Love, but if I were Ainge I would stick to the rebuild. We will still be far far away from a championship after this trade.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I don't think it makes sense for any team to acquire both Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony because Melo is better off as a PF.

The package is going to be the pick, Sullinger, and a lesser pick for Love on a max extension.

Love is a top 10 player and he's worth more than the max. Getting that kind of player on your roster is what this business is all about. I wouldn't think twice.

sorry but you are not being realistic

Does Love want to go from one losing enviroment to another??  Love + Rondo is not going to get you far.  The Wolves have a much stronger roster than us and Love still couldn't help that team get anywhere

If some kind of hush hush deal to sign Melo (who i don't really like but for example purpose), then Love is traded for, then yes i can see Love signing an extension

You just don't give up the farm on a guy who is likely to leave next season.   You don't hope that he stays, thats super risky.   Danny is not that dumb

So unless Love agrees to an extension before trade (which he won't, unless the celts drastically improve their roster by the time he is ready to be brought over), this trade will not happen

I dont get how on earth ppl think the wolves are in a better situation than us!!! Rubio is one of the most overrated players and averages half the assists and points that rondo scores and is nowhere near the leadership level of rondo... Kevin martin is a good shooter but is arguably the worst defender in the league!!! Jeff Green may had a bad season but that is only because he set the bar so high during some games... He still averaged 16ppg and is better than cory frikin brewer!!! Sully is a rising star but if we can package him for Love we should do it in a heartbeat!!! We are also in a much better position for our future than the wolves with our PLETHORA of draft pucks which can be used to entice any super package for any star.... Open ur eyes ppl, Kevin Love in Boston (with a legit center-Asik) can easily propel the Celtics top a top 4 seed in the East!!! Lemme know when the timberwolves come close to smelling the playoffs...

If you compare the roster it's close with the Wolves having an edge just by having Pekovic

Getting Asik also won't be easy as pie as you think.  So Love, Rondo , give up the farm and a high pick and still need to get a center.  Plus there is no guarantee Love will resign

you are screwing yourself for the future in a major way , losing Love, Rondo and if the top 5 pick along with Sullinger become studs

Pairing Love with Rondo could convince both to stay and Asik could easily be acquired either with the Trade Exception or with a deal centered around Bass and a pick..

So basically its
Rondo>Rubio
Bradley=Martin (Bradleys superior defense cancels out Martins slight edge on offense)
Green>Brewer (a 50pt game dont mean nothing)
Sully<Love
Asik >Pek

Maybe... But if we bring in Asik next to Love all we need is a scoring wing (Stephenson/Hayward) or maybe even Jeff Green develops into the 2nd or 3rd scoring option next to Love..

I guess but the celtics need a scoring wing anyway so if Melo comes he'll prolly play SF..

I still stand by my BOLD prediction in April that Love and Noah will be Celtics next season... (Wow. That was really bold).

My realistic prediction on next season has always been....

Sully, 2014 first rounder, 2 future first, Unguaranteed contracts and Wallace as filler for Love.

Trade Exception for Lin and Asik

Bradley sign and trade plus a future first for Aflallo.

Sign Pierce to a lower money deal.

Rondo/Lin
Afflalo/pick #17
Green/Pierce
Love/Bass
Asik/KO

Yes, no question....

"Wiggins, welcome to BOS...glad to have the opportunity to pick you, but you're headed to Minnesota for Kevin Love."

We can win NOW with KLove and a few other pieces. KLove's don't grow on trees.

Part of me still wants to see how good Sully can be playing solely at PF, not worrying about rehabbing from back surgery, and a whole offseason to work on his game and body.  He will most likely never be the offensive player Love is, but might already be a better defensive player.  I'm torn.  Of course I remember people being torn parting with Jefferson in 07. Lol

The only way i see a trade happening between the Celts and Wolves

To Wolves: Parker or Wiggins (to replace scoring), Sullinger
To Celtics: Love, 13th pick

Can't see the wolves caring for any other prospects and they already have Pek, Dieng so they don't need embiid.  We would have to win the lotto basically for this trade to have a chance

If Danny isn't enormed with Wiggins or Parker and sees someone at 13 OR  thinks he can flip the 13 and 17 and get into the top 7 or 8 plus get a 2nd round pick or another good prospect, he will take the risk on Love even if he doesn't promise to resign before the trade

Transactions after the trade

To Kings: 13th (Ennis) , 17th (Warren) and Bass
To Celtics: 7th (Gordon) and Jason Thompson

To Rockets: TAE, future 1st pick
To Celtics: Asik

2014-2015 lineup

C  - Asik
PF - Love
SF - Gordon
SG - Green
PG - Rondo

Bench
KO
Thompson
Wallace
Johnson
Pressey
key FA signing

This lineup should make 4th to 6th spot in the east standing, with a possibility of making 3rd place.

No I would not trade the #3 pick for Kevin Love, but any pick from four on should absolutely go towards that.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

How do the Celts get Noah?

It would have to be a situation where the Bulls knew Rose wasn't coming back to form and they were starting a rebuild.

The hypothetical (mostly unrealistic but still plausible if the domnoes fall into place situation) would be to get Love with something like I proposed.

Then maybe offer out trade exception, Avery Bradley, and non guanarteeds to the Bulls for cap relief (if possible to add all of these together which it might not be) and then offer three first rounders.... If not either the trade exception and first rounders. (Or a combo of unguaranteeds, Bradley, KO, and two firsts.)

Give us a core of Rondo, Green, Love, Noah and still gives us four draft picks (five in the second scenario above) over the next four years.

Long shot certainly. That's why I've labeled it my Bold (semi unrealistic) Prediction.

Considering how weak the East is, I think that lineup can probably take the Celtics to a top 3 team in the East.

But what matters most is if Love and Rondo are committed to long-term deals.

They will as long as the team does well and at worse makes the playoffs and passes the 1st round.   There is no assurance for love he will have the same success if he goes somewhere else.  He will be the face of the franchise with Rondo moving fwd.
