Considering their contracts, health and age... Rondo and Rubio is a wash.

  Hilarious.
Per-36
10.7 points, 9.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 38%/33%/80%
12.6 points, 10.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 40%/29%/63%

Rubio is 5 years younger, still on his rookie contract and not coming off major surgery.

You'd give Rondo the edge, but it's pretty close.

It's not that close, and the gap will probably widen as Rondo gets farther from his surgery (you know, the one you kept saying was likely a career-ender?).

Trying to argue that Rubio is close to being in the same department as Rondo is one of the most preposterous things I have ever heard.

Rondo is considered a "poor shooter" by most everyone in the nation but has slowly improved in that area...

Rubio shoots 37% from the field for his career....And that's with a 32% 3 point percentage.

Rondo lowest shooting percentage in a season was 45% and his career average is 48%. His career on 2 point field goals is 50% compared to Rubio's 38%.

Rondo is miles better in every aspect of the game. Has a ring and playoff experience as well as making the 1st and 2nd team All Defense both two times. Rubio isn't even in the same stratosphere as Rondo.

not a fan of it.  I think we're WAAAAY overpaying for Love.  he's not KG.  also, in the final tally of what assets are leftover, we do not have our 2015 pick -- > that was sent out in the Love deal.

I don't see Minny making a deal for Love that doesn't include our lottery pick this year.  If it's top 3, particularly if it can land Embiid, I'm hesitant to use it.  If it's say #3 and it's Parker, I'd consider it with the provisions Love agrees to sign a deal upon being traded and we aren't sending anything else to Minny except one of Sully/KO and possibly the Philly pick we have.  Parker would fill their scoring need left by Love and Sully will be putting up better numbers next year, particularly on that Minny team.  He's not as good as Love but he's a very good and productive prospect that's still improving.

no way I ship out 3 firsts for Love UNLESS, there's an arrangement where it's only in years we have multiple picks and Minny gets the lesser of those picks in those years.

Right now if I had to guess, Golden State might have the edge over Boston, if they offered some combo of Klay Thompson, David Lee and Harrison Barnes plus future picks.

However, if the Celts manage to end up with a top 3 pick after tomorrow's draft, I've got to think that increases our chances.

Houston certainly could also be a very strong possibility because of the idea of a Howard/Love front court and Love's relationship with McHale.

Could anyone see Houston possibly parting with Harden to land Love? Because if so, I think Minny does that in a heartbeat?

Glad to see they merged all these Love ideas. Here is mine and it's a biggie.

Sacramento receives: Jameer Nelson, Aaron Afflalo, JJ Barea, and Jared Sullinger

Orlando receives: Pick 6 (Boston), Jason Terry's expiring deal, Chase Budinger, and Chris Johnson's non-guaranteed deal

Boston receives: Kevin Love, Kevin Martin, and Jason Thompson

Minnesota receives: Jeff Green, Brandon Bass expiring, Keith Bogans non-guaranteed deal, Joel Anthony expiring, Travis Outlaw expiring, Ben Mclemore, pick 8 (Kings), and pick 12 (Magic)

Why for Sacramento?
Kings have already put this pick on the block and are looking for veteran help. Nelson gives them a veteran PG on an expiring deal, who is another option to go along with Thomas. Afflalo is a great compliment at the SG, with his D and 3, next to Gay and Cousins. He was talked about as an All-Star and is on a team friendly deal. Barea provides nice guard depth and on an expiring deal. Sullinger is nice fit at PF to go with Cousins and is still on his rookie deal.

Kings have Nelson/Thomas, Afflalo, Gay, Sully, and Cousins.

Why for Orlando?
Orlando is likely taking Exum at 4. He and Oladipo are there backcourt of the future and this makes both Nelson and Afflalo expendable. Orlando desperately needs shooting and they add a great shooter in Budinger who can play the three. They likely wave Johnson and Terry. This is fine because Johnson won't count against the books and Terry is an expiring. Orlando saves roughly 6 million dollars in this deal. They also, most importantly, move up from 12 to 6. This allows them to add a guy like Randle or Vonleh.

Magic have Exum/Smart, Oladipo, Budinger/Harkless/Harris, Randle/Vonleh/Nicholson, Vucevic.

Why for Boston?
Kevin Love. Martin and Thompson would be nice complimentary players too, but this is about acquiring Love.

Why for Minnesota?
Minny is going to lose Love. They have said they want high picks and veteran talent. Green is a veteran talent that can light it up when he gets hot. Bass is an expiring and is a solid veteran at PF. Anthony, Bogans, and Outlaw are filler, are all expirings. Bogans is an immediate expiring. McLemore is nice young talent (lotto pick last year) and compliments Rubio in the backcourt. He's on his rookie deal for a while/ Minny also gets 2 lottery picks at numbers 8 and 12. Boston might have to add a future pick or two as well. They also clear long term deals in Budinger and Martin.

Minny have Rubio/Mclemore or pick/Green/Bass or pick/Pekovic

Was wondering what happened to all the Love talk. Did falling to #6 really kill everyone's belief that something could get done? I don't understand. A top three pick in this draft should be kept; anything else is expendable, in my eyes.

This was a fun read. Some are serious, others are not (by necessity).

I think everyone is now aware that the Cavs have won the first pick, so they do have an advantage in being able to pry Love from the Wolves.

Only assuming that Love would agree to resign with Cleveland, whose management hasn't exactly been aces for the last half-decade.

Although, part of me does want to see Minnie get the #1 pick and more in exchange for Love. Would probably be the best-case scenario for them.

He has the Celtics giving up the farm it seems.

While at the same time knocking both Sullinger and Olynyk in the process.

What a jerk...
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Wow, that guy just absolutely killed Sully and Oly.

"There?s no reason to pretend Olynyk and Sullinger would be pieces for the Wolves at all. Being a Wolves fan since they've come into the NBA, I am pretty good at recognizing overvalued first-round picks who won?t be as good as you hope they are."

Ouch!  He must be bitter that the Celtics stole KG and now are about to steal Love.

Cleveland won't take him without an extension. Boston will according Ainge.

It's very doubtful that Love will sign a extension with ANY team. He gets more money under the CBA to resign after the contract is done.

What he can do is do a player option in good faith, so you get two years out of him minimum.  I think DA would do that because he believes he can get a good team around him by that point. LA would to, and could get a team around Love, but don't have the assets to bring him in.

Love said he liked Boston, which is good. Cleveland isn't probably on his radar of East cost teams he would play for. He wants to be part of a winning environment, thats not Cleveland. I mean they couldn't build a team around Lebron, they wont be able to do with with Love and Irving.

Most likely Minni is going to rebuild, and would need to clean house. Boston could help taking on a contract, and give them some picks too. DA could talk to Flip and say, "hey you know how we did this right? Pile up the assets, hope to get lucky on a couple and move the rest or a good player." Minni is in the same boat as Boston in getting FA's to come to them. So Flip would be wise to listen to DA and follow their game plan of how to rebuild quickly. So Boston is in a really good position to help Minni and give them this year's pick, the clips pic and a nets pick, and maybe Sully if they want a "Now" player.  I'm good with that.

Actually, I think he might be wearing his Timberwolf glasses.  His trade suggestion for Cleveland involves them giving up Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters, and the #1 pick.  That's just laughable.  He doesn't seem to realize that Love is threatening to opt out next season.
