I wouldn't give up on Granger just yet.  This was a much different Pacers team than it is now.  It went from being his team to PGs team.  On the sixers he's got a chance to hog it again and put up good numbers.

I fail to see how they made out like bandits? Evan Turner is a young talented player, had for what looks like the corpse of Danny Granger. Spencer Hawes is a 13/8 big man who shoots 40% from 3 given away for two second rounders. Lavoy Allen is a solid deep bench rotation guy. Philly was giving away guys at below value. Unless Granger gets his mojo back every deal they made was in the other teams favor.

Ainge should have followed suit and could learn a thing from Hinkle. He should have given away Bass Green and Hump for 2nds if he absolutely had to. You need to look at the future and Ainge failed miserably today. You mean to tell me Bass couldn't have gotten back the same haul as Hawes? You can find a lot of good players in the 2nd round. Marc Gasol, BBD, Rodman, Boozer...list goes on and on. Ainge gets an F for today.

Today was terrible for trade value. Ainge got more for Jordan Crawford and Marshon Brooks than almost any team did for much better players at the deadline. 76ers had a fire sale and was trying desperately to get a first rounder and got a bunch of seconds instead. Good for them (I guess?). I'd rather Ainge wait on deals than make a desperation move, when there's absolutely no need to do so. Despite the list, 9/10 second rounder don't make any impact in the NBA and our players have more value after the season anyways. I'm not even going to get started on the "He should've gotten rid of Bass and Green for 2nd rounders" comment because that's just funny.

Now that it’s over, I want Spencer Hawes to know how much I appreciated his little cat-and-mouse game of “Oh, you think you’re gonna shamelessly sabotage this team while dangling me around the league in trade talks for three months? DANGLE THIS!”

Check out his monthly splits — each month, he gets 15 percent worse. He went from 16 and 10 with 51/47/72 shooting percentages in November to 8 and 8 with 32/27/78 in February. And that doesn’t even count the other end of the floor; by February, he was wandering around on defense like a Walking Dead zombie. I wonder if Philly made Hawes its tanking mole. Maybe the Sixers said, “Hey, Spencer, give us three gawd-awful months, and then we’ll send you to an awesome contender”? And then they double-crossed him by sending him to Cleveland?

Zach Lowe (10:19 AM EST)
Philly will receive two second-rounders, which is decent return for a mediocre unrestricted free agent who has regressed defensively this season. That’s especially so if Philly is getting Orlando’s 2014 second-rounder from the Cavs, which is pretty much a first-round pick without the long-term salary guarantees. But we’ll have to see.

To paraphrase Zach Lowe, it's a little silly to call 2nd round picks "worthless" when they were just used multiple times today to acquire rotation-caliber players.  You can use a draft pick without drafting a guy.

That kid really has no choice in life but to play basketball. With a name like that. It's either you just wanna go drinking all day, or play in the NBA.

Yup, Philly made out really well.

Actually I was listening to our friend Felger on my way home from work today and they were saying that in addition to building around Carter Williams and Nerlens Noel, the Sixers are in a prime spot for a top 3 pick AND they somehow have maneuvered enough cap space for this summer to offer two max contracts!

I doubt any big time players would want to play in Philly BUT….they are in pretty good shape for the future.

I love that Philly didn't get the value they wanted for these players after crying about first round picks for the whole season.

Sure there is some value in second rounders, but they didn't make out like bandits that's for sure. Heck, we bought a pick for Iverson last year.

And this is why they didn't make out like bandits.  They wanted first rounder picks for Turner and Hawes and didn't get them.

They sure did, OP. What an exciting time to be a fan in Philly. They have Noels waiting in the wing, are all but assured a top 5 pick and have a boat load of cap space.

Nerlens Noel
Thaddeus Young
*Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker?
Tony Wroten
Michael Carter-Williams

Or they could even go

Joel Embiid
Nerlens Noel
Thaddeus Young
Danny Granger
Michael Carter-Williams

Thats a big line up.

Plus cap space.
Looks like a good promising young team to me.
If they play it right, they will be contending in the east for a while.

Yes, and all of those "multiple times" involved Philadelphia. Let's not pretend this is the norm.

I don't care how they end up, all I care about is that they make the playoffs next season! They have no chance this season and next season is the last shot to make it a 1st pick... I will still be happy with 3 2nds though.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

tank-tastic this year, but they could be really good next season.

Sixers give:

Evan Turner
Spencer Hawes
Lavoy Allen
Conditional 2nd

Sixers get:

2nd round pick (Magic)
2nd round pick (Wizards)
2nd round pick (Nuggets)
2nd round pick (Clippers)
2nd round pick (Pacers)
Danny Granger
Earl Clark
Eric Maynor
Henry Sims
Byron Mullens
If I were the 76ers and someone made me that offer I would tell them don't call me, I'll call you, and hang up. There's almost nothing to like here. It seems clear the idea is to pair Young, Wroten, Noel, MCW, and two top 12 picks with a free agent they hope to get with the money they cleared. Good luck with that.

Let's hope so, if they're really good next year we get another 1st rounder.
