The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that they have acquired 2013 All Star Point Guard Jrue Holiday and Pierre Jackson, the 42nd overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, in exchange for the Pelicans first pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, with whom they selected Kentucky F Nerlens Noel, as well as the Pelicans top five lottery protected first round selection in next year's draft.

This all started with the trade of "All Star PG" Jrue Holiday more or less for Nerlens Noel and a protected additional first round pick.  It makes me wonder if Ainge could have made this deal offering Rondo.  Probably not since Rondo was injured but hypothetically, could he pull something like this off at this draft?

Noel was a highly coveted player, even with the injury and there was every reason to believe that NO would be in the lottery again.  NO is probably happy with the trade, they seem to be headed in the right direction.  I am sure Phili is happy with the trade.

So who got the better of the deal and what should Danny learn from it?  If you think Phili won the trade, is that a model Boston should try to copy (trade Rondo for high picks)?  Could that be what Danny is thinking or is he thinking like NO and will try to trade our picks for an all star?

Or is NO worse off for having traded the picks and is the lesson hold on to your picks?

tank-tastic this year, but they could be really good next season.

Let's hope so, if they're really good next year we get another 1st rounder.
Ya, lets hope that they do a 180 and be a top 3 or 4 team next year. So we get that pick!

...or a top 15 team so we get *that* pick.
