Waiters .....

Is the superior player at most aspects of basketball....other than AB s insane lockdown.D.  And the gap will widen in a couple years.....he has better ceiling.

Physically he is stronger, taller, NBA size guard body .   d Wade ish

Waiters can PASS and FINISH.  the fast break...two things  AB is woefully  weak at..you'd think he'd be better by now playing with Rondo  ???

Avery is great kid,  good attitude ,   Super D ,   But not worth but about 1/2 what he believes he can get.

Waiters is being held back in Cleveland .

I'd take him over AB anyday  if we can get him

Rondo and Waiters would give us a very nice starting tandom at Guard....... With Pressey and CJ doing the second team deal .
The .410 from the field appears decidedly non "D-Wadish".

Oh ...I was if you chose to read carefully talking physical aspects......not shooting percent

Good try budd ;D
The point stands. Pairing two guards who can pass but not really shoot and/or score efficiently is not good team building.

People keep throwing that 6-7 million figure for Bradley. I don't see it, not with his up and down level of play and injuries.

No one is throwing this around... this is what DA offered and Bradley turned it down.. again it only takes one team to outrgeously pay him..
The source of the report on that extension he turned down? I'm betting it was his agent because that same report was also putting his price tag at 8 million.

There are a few articles out there but this is a good one..

Bogans and Clippers 2015 1st for Waiters?
not near enough for Cleveland.  They aren't giving away the 4th pick in a recent draft.  They would move him, but it would require some real value going back to them.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I doubt the Cavs are doing that, all reports are that they want to win this season and make the playoffs.

If they move Waiters they'll want a player back not just a low first round pick.

I have not seen Waiters much but it appears that posters here think highly of him...I have not seen anything negative yet with regard to his play...Any naysayers out there??

I've been a bit of a naysayer.  I think his ceiling in a glorified Sixth Man.  And I'm talking from a skills standpoint and not factoring in any off court stuff.  The kid can play but I'm not sure how much he will actually bring to the table besides a microwave type scoring lift.  A guy like that is great off the bench to have but not sure what he does for a contending team as a starter.

I wouldn't give up a first rounder for him unless he is abolutely the final piece to a championship puzzle.

If we're keeping Rondo, I'd rather have Bradley alongside with a more offensive SF on the wing.

All the articles I've seen reference Jared Zwerling's report, its a single report echoed across the internet.

Remember the media now a days is an echo chamber its important to see where the original source is and if multiple people are confirming it.

Then he's going to still be a Cav.

Sure and I think they are ok with that.  The fans here in Cleveland really like him and I think upper management does as well.

Yes, but that is about what Marcus Smart is shooting in college and is better than Jabari Parker is shooting in ACC conference play. So somehow these "can't miss" lottery guys are going suddenly shoot 50% in the NBA first or second year?

Guess you do not want Irving, Thompson, Derozen or Lillard either because they are at about 42%.

Waiters is one of the top two guard prospects in the NBA. Easy to see his potential. One of the strongest guards in the league and a great stroke. Really not sure where you are getting this "he can't shoot stuff". Cavs are not going to give him away so you have nothing to worry about.

With 6'4, Waiters at least gives us a slightly better height advantage over Bradley who is 6'2.

So what?  It doesn't make him better at anything.  I'd still rather have Bradley defending one of those 6'7" SGs out there.

Waiters looks a lot like MarShon Brooks 2.0 and Brooks was the player on the roster at the beginning of the season that I was most itching to get rid of.

Someone on the front page was asking about his defense.  This is from nbadraft.net about his defense:

Defensively he has active hands and quick feet, and is a constant threat to steal the ball when defending a loose/careless handle ... Often comes out of nowhere for pokes and swipes as an off-ball defender ...

http://nbadraft.net/players/dion-waiters

I like the fact that Dion is 2" taller and 45 pounds heavier!!!

That's from his time in college playing zone. In the NBA playing man, he's been a sieve.

If he's not the absolute worst transition defender in the NBA he's in the top 5. Zero effort to get his but back on D after launching yet another pull up jumper with bad floor balance.

Dion Waiters, from the same tradition as Fab Melo.

But he can successfully navigate door frames, so he has more upside.

In regards to his demands or, ultimately, what he will be paid?

Does anyone remember Baby's first foray into free agency? What was the plan, something like $10M a year?
