I don't know if you know this, but Kevin Durant is a little bit better at basketball than Avery Bradley.

Source???

This was A+
Every year there are 6-7 teams with a lower winning percentage than our current record. I think we've gotten so used to ignoring the bottom feeders since 2008 that we've forgotten how bad some teams are.

No doubts at all--it's pretty clear that they didn't.

Here's a PDF of some of the emails (the first email is at the bottom, it reads bottom up)

And, if you really want an excuse to applaud the departure of David Stern, there's this one, too:

I literally know 0% about this, so these could be 100% real, but I could fake that whole thing better than that in less than 20 minutes.

It's amazing how bad you have to be to tank.  We win one game in who know's how long and we drop from the three spot to the 5 spot.  And we are now only a hair ahead of teams (i.e., the lakers) that I think we are better than.

So frankly, I am just hoping we can stay in the top 10 here.

Now to the 6 spot, god this is depressing  :'(

I have us for 26 wins for the season, hopefully Danny can move Bass.
any other year, we'd be the worst team if not 2nd worst.

Great quote, and I know I did the same thing myself until I just realized you pointed it out.

Probably some truth to that.

Aside from my snarkier posts I think you'd be somewhat surprised at how rarely I just make things up.

I don't doubt that you could.

But I don't think that the Seattle Times would be able to use them as source material after receiving them from lawyers from the city of Seattle, who requested them from whichever NYC court ended up handling the subpoena. Not to mention that if it was faked that would be libel and very, very lawsuit worthy.

So, you know, there's that.

Oh I believe that these are real haha. As I said, I know 0% of any of this. I guess what threw me off was the typing of the letters. They look like they've been photo shopped so bad that they can use the "If we would have photo shopped these, than they would look better". CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!!!

Seriously though, every one knows Stern can't get in legal trouble because he is in the Illuminati! #stern&silver2016 President of USA, vote today.

It's not looking good for us if we keep winning like this.  Hopefully, Ainge has a plan

the problem is, as bad as our team is, we are still better than the magic, 76ers, bucks...so, when we play teams like that there is a good chance we can win those games.

but, the good thing is any time we play a half-way decent team we are going to lose. I'm not too worried. we'll drop some of these next few games and Ainge will unload some of our players who have no part of the future(Bass, maybe green)

What'd I tell you guys, 2 straight wins and I think we now have the 6th worst record. If the Kings and Lakers didnt somehow win we'd be in even more trouble. The Cavs aren't even trying to tank and weve moved past them. Next up....The lowly Kings. If we lose then we are in real trouble.

This is what I was afraid of. We're going to have to settle for Willie Cauley Stein or Hood as our "prize" instead of the real game changers....terrible.

We have the 7th worst point differential in the league. We're probably going to end up somewhere around the 7th worst record in the league, but its close at the bottom  so we could be up or down a few slots.

Its not a disaster if that happens, because frankly the lottery is still a crapshoot and rehabbing and developing Rondo/Sullinger is the primary goal this year right now.

Besides we've still gone 4 - 15 in 2014. The overreaction to two wins against fellow cellar dwellers is comical.

If you look at point differential the Celtics have the best number at -3.9 of the bottom 7 teams (Milwaukee, Orlando, Philly, Cleveland, Utah, LA Lakers). This means they're in more close games and aren't getting blown out as much as the other teams.

The other number which is probably related is they have the best defense of the bottom 7 teams at 98.9 PA/G.

Furthermore, they've made the most hay of the bad Eastern teams against their own conference with a 14-17 Conference record. The next best is the Magic at 11-21. That 3.5 game difference is enough to push the Celtics to the back of the "worst list."

What does it all mean? The Celtics aren't as bad as the teams below them in the standings and probably are where they deserve to be. They're the best of the horrible East teams, a horrible spot to be in.

This season, even more so than previous ones, is all about extreme reactions to the recent past.

I think it's because there's such a huge cluster of teams with similar records tanking this season. A two game win streak (especially against other tanking teams) can mean a difference of 4 draft slots, maybe more.
