By the way, I'm intrigued by this roster construction some of you have suggested involving a starting 5 of Rondo, Bradley, (insert 2014 first rounder), Love, and Asik.
I'm not convinced that this can be done without leaving our own cupboard completely bare for some future draft, but I agree that it isn't outside the realm of possibility.
I could see this as a Garnett-Allen-like plan B. Draft day may very well come, and our front office may very well decide that they'd rather trade the pick if it doesn't like them up to hire Embiid or Parker. In that scenario, draft day 2014 would see us trade our high pick (in the Wiggins/Gordon/Exum range) along with Sullinger and perhaps one of our Nets picks to Minnesota. We might use our lesser 1st round Hawks/Nets pick on a mid-round wing like Doug McDermott, James Young, or Glen Robinson III.
Asik really shouldn't cost us more than, say, Jeff Green and our 2015 1st rounder from LA.
My question to you guys is this- do you like this outcome better than winning the draft lottery and bringing on Embiid or Parker?
