Just curious what you guys think we'd have to give up to get him.

I think it would take:

2014 unrestricted 1st rounder
2015 first rounder
Olynyk
Bass
Bogans

Olynyk and a 1st rounder ist gonna get love.

Besides, love isnt the bonafide all star taking over the NBA that we all want. we need someone with more star power than that.

how many people cared when smith went to the pistons? Kevin love is in the same category. B class all star. we need A class stars.

Trading for Love has a good chance of being a rental that ends in him declining his player option in 2015 and going to the Lakers.

Kevin Love is a much better player than Josh Smith.  But I do agree that he is not worth giving the farm away, especially when we are not close to being a championship team.

Olynyk and a first? Come on man it would take way more than that... Love is a lot better than Smith as well. Love's real problem is he's an awful defender. He is dominant on offense.

Wolves would want a lot back for him. I think Sully would have to be part of a package for starters. Multiple firsts as well. Olynyk and a first for love is like the Pistons when they wanted to offer Knight and a first for Rondo and we all laughed

I don't think Love is a terrible post defender.  If paired with a plus defender at the 5, he would be more than adequate.  He understands team defense enough to be in the right places.  He just doesn't have the ability to protect the rim.  Him and Pek don't get pushed around on D, but neither can protect the rim at all.

keeping in mind Love is not KG, his price should be lower and he would need to agree to an extension if he's traded.

I'd probably consider Sully, Hump (for salary matching) and the Clips pick next year.
Sully isn't as good as Big Al but he's not too far off.  Hump is a much better player than anyone sent out with Big Al and the Clips pick will still come to them in another good draft.  If necessary, swap the Clips pick the Nets/Hawks pick this year.

Personally I would do this.

Sullinger+Green+Vitor Faverani  and 14 first round pick, and the 2015 Philly pick that is essentially two second rounders, and Miami Heat second round.

Green is a definite improvement of Brewer, who can't score as well, but can only defend. Green is a way better upgrade, and can or can not be the 3rd or 4th best player. Sullinger is already proving his potential, and he's 21 on a two year friendly contract. They get our draft pick this year, and use that as a good building block for whatever position they need.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
I'm pretty sure we don't have enough valuable assets to get Kevin Love. Even if the Timberwolves wanted to trade him for whatever reason, we wouldn't be high up on their list of trade partners.

Because seriously, the guy is averaging 25 ppg, 13 rpg, 4 apg, and 2.4 threes per game.

I like freshinthehouse's analysis - he isn't necessarily a liability on defense. Besides, rebounding and finishing the job is part of defense altogether.

Love's value is much, much higher than you guys are holding standard.
I like Marcus Smart

No, probably not. That'd be wildly lateral for both teams.

Sullinger, Humphries, Olynk and 3 1st rounders. Take or add another player (maybe Green as well)

I think you have to give up Sully atleast and 2 first round picks. Dont want to do that though unless he is willing to sign that extension. Would rather wait though till next year you maybe able to get him cheaper. I personally hope Danny doesnt do anything big till draft time to see where we stand with picks and all. Unless we get somebody for a steal of a deal.
