+1 for the OP, triboy
Even though it's an old thread, I thought it deserved to be bumped.
I'm surprised that there is so little love here for Rodney Hood. Not that people are knocking him, but just that people seem to be overlooking him, mainly because of Jabari Parker overshadowing him.
Given all the draft threads in the past month or two (I had to dig back and do a topic search on Hood and found only one and it was 3 months old ) with names like McDermott, Warren, Gordon and Anderson and Vonleh (with Vonleh and Anderson being my personal favorites of those mentioned in the 6-10 range) there has been little mention of Hood.
Hood is a better free throw shooter than Parker (80% vs 74%) and a substantially better 3 point shooter (42% to 35%). He has a great jumper both in terms of form and elevation.
He is more than decent off the bounce and can create his own shot by either slashing to the rim (sometimes his slighter frame 215 vs Parkers 235 makes him a little less effective at drawing fouls than Parker) or pulling up with that jab step and fall away short range.
I know the two main knocks on him are his lack of strength, which shows up in not great rebounding numbers compared to Parker, and his age.
He has a polished offensive game, however, and could end up being the most effective pure scorer in this draft.
If we miss out on the top 4 and Vonleh, I take this kid. He could play the 2 or 3 effectively.
