Al Horford injury

Did anybody else watch the ATL Cavs game last night?  He looked like a superstar until that happened.  What a great game, I hope he comes out of this ok.

I know what he's capable of but have not watched any Hawks games this year, so he's been huge for them thus far?

I don't wish injury on anybody but this has to be good news for us

I bet Hawks still make the playoffs.

I'll take that bet. 100 TPs.

Should wait to see if Horford is officially out yet.  With how bad the Leastern Conference is, the Hawks will have trouble NOT making the playoffs.

Well again.. Atlanta is going to have a hard time missing the playoffs this year.  Too much garbage in the East.  But Horford's misfortune is theoretically good news for Boston. 

Currently Brooklyn has the 6th worst record.  That pick would go to Atlanta if the season ended today.  We'd end up with Atlanta's pick (#20 at the moment).   This certainly has the potential to shake things up.

I only caught it from halftime on, but I just looked at the stats and he only scored 5 pts in the first half and then 20 in the second.  So yeah, in the second half he was bananas and looked like a superstar, maybe not so much in the first half.  Jeff Teague & Kyle Korver were hitting insane half court shots for them, too.  If they were all healthy they would be a brutal out in the playoffs.  Teague is so annoying though, something about him just irritates me.

yeah that's who he usually is overlooked but does all the little things and when it matters most he'll put the ball in the hole

I'm not so sure they make the playoffs now. Horford was a huge factor for them, and their backup options suck. I know the east is weak overall, but it wouldn't take much for the Hawks to drop at this point.

Horford was their only center (and he's better as a PF). who is going to take his place, Pero Antic?, Elton Brand?, Paul Milsap, Ayon?

They had no depth to begin with. This kills them, far more than Brook Lopez' loss does to the Nets. At least Blatche/KG can kinda hold the fort. Plus the Nets have more talent and (I can't believe I'm saying this) more depth.

Atlanta either makes a move for Asik or Sanders (or some other available center who can play)or they're in the lottery for sure.

There may be that circle the wagons bump, like the Cs experienced when Rondo went down last year, but that won't last long.

If they don't get a center, they are done. And, if they have to trade Milsap for that center, they'll be in worse shape.

Like many have said, I also feel bad for Horford. Bad Luck.

But we've had more than our share of injuries over the past five years that cost us AT LEAST two titles and our own potential "three-peat". About time an injury may be good luck for us....

...as the Nets will finish above the Hawks, and hopefully both in the lottery.

I'm just catching up on this now.

I think every C's fan who, like me, has occasional moments of being an utterly rotten human being, has had the thought that if only Horford or Milsap (or even Teague) went down for a while, it would be great for the C's.   It feels a little weird that it actually happened.

I feel bad for Horford who seems like a good guy and was coming into his own as a great #1 player for the Hawks.   But as long as he recovers fully I can't help but feel that this is a stroke of luck for the C's.

 so if it's true then he's gonna be out 3-4 months i would guess. thats most of the remaining regular season.

I think Atlanta could lose the majority of its remaining games and still make the playoffs. Thats how bad the east is in my eyes.
