What's his status? This could be huge. I don't want anyone's career out in jeopardy but if he has to miss three months like with his pec then we could potentially have two top 10 picks in the 2014 draft.
I could see any of Boston, Atlanta, or Brooklyn missing the playoffs, but not all three of them, which that scenario would require.

If horford is out a long long time I can. As long as we don't win the division we will probably miss the playoffs. A lot of that depends on RR. Were barely in 8th. Bk is cooked.

Some questionable things may be said in this thread due to Cs fans so desperately wanting the Hawks to start losing...let's just hope the Horford injury isn't major, but him sitting a number of games wouldn't be the worst thing either.

It's too bad the Hawks still managed to pull out the win in double ot - this would have been a great loss.

TP. I agree with all this. I like horford. Would love him in green. But. The more games he misses the better it is for the future of the celtics. A shoulder isn't the end of the world either. Most guys come back and it's actually a rare injury. I remember Rudy gay in 2011. It's not a knee or back or heart so it shouldn't be career threatening.

Still could result in a lot of missed games this year bc if not fully healed it can be reoccurring like Avery had a couple years ago.

They also possibly lost DeMarre Carroll to a thumb injury. It was a heck of a game, Irving and Teague were going mano a mano with Irving making some great offensive plays but also turning it over too many times.

Even with Horford out I don't think the Hawks will fall off a cliff. The East is so bad and they have no reason to tank.

Per Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, torn right pec for Horford which would cause him to miss the rest of the season.  As others have stated, never like to see good players get injured, but this makes things interesting for our draft pick.

Torn right pec.  Horrible.  I mean I know we wanted the Hawks to suck this year for draft pick reasons, but not because of something like this.  Get well soon Al.

I feel bad for Horford.  I really like that guy.  But, this could end up being really good news for the Celtics.

Did anybody else watch the ATL Cavs game last night?  He looked like a superstar until that happened.  What a great game, I hope he comes out of this ok.

Yeah, me too.

Having said that, my ideal scenario now would see the Celts go deep in the playoffs and see Brooklyn and Atlanta battle it out for mediocrity.

I bet Hawks still make the playoffs.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.
