Obviously Morey put out the rumor in a last-ditched attempt to drive up the market for Asik before his Friday deadline.

Nets believe false rumor about broken foot, make panic trade for Asik?  That's ridiculous.  The Nets would never do something stupid like that.  The Knicks would, though.

I was thinking someone would hear Lopez broke his foot and decides to get Asik before Brooklyn ups the bids.

And I was thinking the Knicks are stupid.

For the fourth time in three years, Brook Lopez has suffered a broken foot, a league source confirms to NetsDaily. That likely means he is done for the season.
Worrying about his long term health.

yao ming anyone...that would be too bad
would be good for the future picks the c's own though

Netsdaily is reporting it on their homepage now.

Yup. Seems true. That's too bad...

Interested to see what happens to KG and Pierce. I would imagine the nets will actively shop those two.

Why would they shop KG and Pierce?  They get no benefit from being bad and the returns they might get from them aren't going to help.  They have no picks to trade.  That is one franchise in a world of hurt, they can't even bottom out to get better.

Wow that's a lot of bad mojo for him. He's a force when healthy and it seems that only happens when he's playing against the Celtics.
I moved the cheese.

Wasn't there a Pierce for Zach Randolph rumor recently?  Would make a little more sense now, and move KG to center.  Although KG would be p---ed if that happened.

Does this mean the Celtics are even more likely to win the Atlantic?

Unless you have some faith in NYK I can't understand...

i think Billy King and the Nets just called Danny and asked him for a do-over on the trade...how funny would it be to get the Capt and KG back for Hump, Bogans and Brooks...i know it's not going to happen...but...you can always dream...

Trade Restriction
The following players selected in this scenario have restrictions which prevent them from being traded at this time. This may prevent the trade from occuring.

Players with Trade Restrictions

Paul Pierce from Brooklyn Nets
Pierce was recently traded from Boston and cannot be re-acquired by the Celtics this season. As a result this trade cannot continue.

Kevin Garnett from Brooklyn Nets
Garnett has a no trade clause which means he must agree to waive this for any trade to happen.

Kris Humphries from Boston Celtics
Humphries was recently traded from Brooklyn and cannot be re-acquired by the Nets this season. As a result this trade cannot continue.

Keith Bogans from Boston Celtics
Bogans was recently traded from Brooklyn and cannot be re-acquired by the Nets this season. As a result this trade cannot continue.

MarShon Brooks from Boston Celtics
Brooks was recently traded from Brooklyn and cannot be re-acquired by the Nets this season. As a result this trade cannot continue.

Anyone know why?

[dang] you feel bad for KG and Paul they been healthy these last couple years (except nagging injuries), but those were because they were forced to do too much with their key guys falling to injury. Rondo, D-Will, Brook Lopez. I wouldn't be mad at the Nets turning to crap over the next few years and us getting some nice picks for it but still feel bad for them they can't catch a break.

they can't even trade for Asik, I mean, what the heck can they even offer Houston? Pierce for Asik? KG would retire on the spot
