Here's one I would consider:

Philly gets: Brandon Bass + Omri Casspi + 2 1sts (2015 Clips pick + 2014 Houston pick)

Boston gets: Evan Turner + Omer Asik

Houston gets: Jeff Green + Marshon Brooks

Im fine with giving away draft picks but not at the expense of Green when we are only getting Asik and a terrible Turner in return.

Sorry, just cant stand Evan Turner.

no
we  have a glut of sg and pf and while wallace works hard and plays good defense he is not starter material
our sf position would become very weak
I would think ainge would come up with a  humprhies and crawford package and it will work  8)

Not for Green , unless its a better deal.

For Bass and another player  yes.

Asik is 29 yrs old? ...wow...he has been on the bench behind other players.....he is like a NOS center ,  I don't think he has been injuried , and has good years left .   It's time for him to play and have a career , instead of sitting on the Bench.......he ll play all the minutes we could give him.   He seems tuff and rugged

Centers are tuff to,come by even this skilled .

Asik is still only 27. Same age as Rondo and Green.

I don't think I'd include Green in an Asik deal, but something around Bass and other pieces.

I would be unhappy at first if the C's dealt Green for Asik but I eventually would come around. It would give us some depth at Center but make us about as thin as we have been in a while at the three.

I would do Bass and a pick or Bass and crawford.

I like Asik better than Green, but I don't think I would trade Green straight up for him.

Here's why...

From a teambuilding standpoint, I just don't think it makes much sense.  If you trade for Asik, then it is to facilitate a quick turnaround of this franchise.  But he is not going to do it himself.  If you take away the teams best perimeter scorer in the process, it is one step forward, two steps back.  But if you can get Asik without giving up Green, then suddenly it makes more sense, because it should give a quality playoff team, that still has some flexibility.

While I am not thrilled with Green, I think he is one of our more tradable assets, and would be an important piece if we wanted to upgrade the wing position, because of his production and reasonable contract.  So, if you are trying to remake the team, I would want to save him for a bigger deal than someone like Asik, who you are buying low on.

Have you seen Turner this year?  He has turned the corner, and at this point is a better player than Green IMO.  Not sure he would be a great fit with Rondo though.  I think he is at his best as a point forward.

I am not a huge Green fan but I wouldn't move him for Asik.  Who plays the 3?  I would rather just play KO, Sully and Vitor those minutes?

I don't think that team would be a quality playoff team.  It wouldn't have enough scoring.  Ainge would never offer Green, he's a much better fit next to Rondo than Asik.  More likely he'd say Bass, Lee and a 1st, which even then we would only after some other deal was done to make us a serious contender (like Hump's expiring and 2 firsts).  Asik is not a to-die-for asset.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't think so.

(1) Evan Turner isn't nearly as good defensively as Jeff Green is at SF. He just doesn't have the size to compete with the bigger athletes at SF. Turner is comparable as a SG defensively as Green is at SF but then his offensive game takes a hit.

(2) Turner has been really inefficient offensively. He is getting 19.7ppg but he is taking 16.9 FGAs, 4.5 FTAs and importantly 3.6 turnovers a game to get there (roughly 22.5 possessions for 19.7ppg). The 3.9apg doesn't make up for how inefficient that is. And the only reason he is getting that many touches and opportunities offensively is because Turner is on a 20-25 win team. On a quality team, those touches go away because of his inefficiency and Turner is back to being a 10-15ppg threat.

Evan Turner is a useful player but he isn't on Jeff Green's level.

OK, so forgetting Green, how about jumping in on a potential Philly/Houston deal.

I have read that Houston might actually want Hawes back (which makes sense), and are also interested in a defensive wing.

So, how about this (which works on the trade machine):

Houston gets: Hawes and Lee

Philly Gets: Asik

Boston gets: nothing except for a trade exception

For Philly I am not positive why this makes sense, but they are supposedly interested in Asik, and from that point of view, trading their current center, who will be an expensive free agent this summer for him definitely makes sense.

For Houston, they get a guy who can be a stretch PF, particularly against bigger lineups, but who can also be a VERY effective backup center, and they also get a defensive wing, who can guard 1s 2s and 3s, and who can also knock down the corner three.  Lee also had his best year as pro playing with Howard.

Asik for Bass+Lee+ (a 2nd rounder) makes most sense

Right, but if the Celtics are getting Turner AND Asik while also unloading Bass, I think that might (emphasis on MIGHT) be a decent return.

As others have said, it's unlikely Houston agrees to a deal where they'd have to give up a first to trade Asik (instead of getting one).

Philly doesn't have any reason to do the deal unless they're getting both of the picks, also.

So yeah, a far-fetched idea.  But that's the kind of deal it would have to be in order for me to consider trading for Asik.

Why would Houston take on Green's contract when they already have Chandler Parsons?
