Are those who want to keep bass thinking clearly?
If we did this trade we would clear a whole bunch of money a year sooner than if we didn't make the trade
You would rather keep bass than to have the ability to offer a big time agent max money in 2015?
Get out of here with that nonsense....
Not making this trade does not prevent the Celtics from signing a big free agent in the summer of 2015. It's not as if this will be the only chance to dump some of those contracts.
What it does do is make it harder for the Celtics from bringing in a big name, either through free agency or trade, in the summer of 2014, which is something I am interested in doing.
Any prospective names on that list of big names?
My dream scenario is that Memphis somehow falls completely apart and the team decides to enter rebuilding/tank mode, so that Marc Gasol is available for Sullinger and picks.
I've also wondered how much Pau Gasol will decline and if he would be worth closer to $15 million, $10 million, or $5 million if is secretly tired of being around Kobe.
I sometimes fantasize about Derrick Rose's comeback looking like the second coming of Michael Redd, so that the Bulls have no choice but to rebuild and get whatever assets they can for a player such as Joachim Noah.
I suppose it seems less likely now that Portland is off to a good start, but I was wondering if the Trail Blazers would try to trade Aldridge if it seemed he was leaning towards going elsewhere when his contract expired.
I'm not as enthusiastic about going after Carmelo Anthony as other people are, but the cap space could probably be manufactured to sign him if you are willing to spend a ton of draft picks.
None of this is likely to happen, but I think there is a reasonable chance that some unpredictable opportunity pops up.
