No, I haven't, actually.  I'm just skeptical that a collegiate small forward would be a better passer than a guy who's essentially played point forward at the NBA level for his entire career. If Gordon was that good at passing in college (better than Iggy), I'd think he'd play point guard -- ala Magic.

I actually think Iguodala and LeBron are the two best passing wings/non-point guards in the game right now. SBN had a really good article about it when he went to the Warriors:
http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/9/30/4735230/andre-iguodala-breakdown-video-golden-state-warriors

Per the turnovers -- Iggy's averaging a career 2.3 turnovers a game and a career 15%TOV. That's hardly being careless with the ball.

Marcus Smart will be a better player than Iguodala.  Definitely more durable...

We're comparing Iggy and Gordon.  ;)

If the celtics have the number 5 spot, i would pick Randle. I would have a hard time passing him up at that spot.

Maybe they get lucky and use that pick to help get an established star, or trade down to around 8 and grab Gordon, or down to 10 and grab Hood, and get another asset to go with those drop down trades.

But if the celtics were to pick up Smart i am not sure what to do with him. I am not convinced he is a point guard yet, due to his lack of court vision and creativity for others, as well as the lack of shooting. I might actually keep him and play him at both guard positions with Rondo and Bradley and let him develop.

The order of picks in the 5-12 range are really debatable.

Anyway, I'd keep Smart.

Take Randle all day long before Smart.  Smart is too unpredictable to take in the first five. Just Pass on him.

Smart is a bad fit at this time. Other needs are more important

Too many bigger players that are good in the 6-10 picks for me too

He d be maybe my 10 pick at earliest in this draft.

I like Exum ...but not sure it's the right pick for  a team that says it's keeping Rondo, who we need to lure a star to the team.

We have Rondo.  Not for taking another poor shooting guard , hoping he'll be the next CP3 , that has bust written all over it.

Not seeing DA taking a guard .....rim protector and scorer we need .....Emiid and Parker

I don't think he's a bad shooter. He averaged 16.6 PPG on 48% shooting and 30% from 3pt land over 2 years. This past season he averaged 18/5/6/3. His eFG% and TS% are comparable to Russell Westbrook's last year at UCLA and virtually all of his stats are better.

Actually for all of the comparisons to  Wade or Iggy Smart comes off a lot more like a Westbrook type to me. Dude is a freight train combo guard who oozes intensity. If he can develop any kind of 3pt shot he will be scary in the NBA.

Truth be told I might take him over Exum. I feel like I know more about Smart. He plays big in big games.

Rank the top 9 prospects.  The rest of our schedule is too soft to end up in the Top 5.  Who are picks 6-9?  That's our range.

Quote
Remember when Marcus Smart was the best story in college basketball? A top-three pick who opted out of a historically weak draft and into a historically loaded one, turning down millions because he wanted to improve and he wanted to win at Oklahoma State, he was Everything Right About the Game.

One desultory exit from the NCAA tournament and one altercation with a ****y Texas Tech fan later, Smart's no longer quite so golden. He's more a cautionary tale.

8 of our next 12 games are against playoff teams.  Other tanking teams have much harder schedules.

The Lakers and Jazz have tougher schedules. They may win 3 more each max and land at 26 wins. Boston has 2 Philly cup cakes next month. They have also shown that they can beat Detroit, Cleveland, Washington and Atlanta. I think Boston finishes with 28 wins and the 6th worst record.

Smart can handle ball pressure and play NBA defense right away.  Randle's instincts and defense are lacking.  After watching the last 5 games or so and focusing on Randle, I think he's very underdeveloped mentally (BBIQ).  He's a bull though, and he wins a lot of battles on strength and aggression at the college level.  I'd take Smart over Randle.

I hadn't seen Cleanthony Early at all til that last game and I was blown away.  Can anybody provide some analysis on this kid?

The weakness listing makes me cringe.  Definitely out of control at times.

I'm scard this maybe the case...

Don't think DA is committed to tanking it out for a good pick......

Just see no reason at all to win another game

Makes no sense ....being in our position.......everybody else is going for draft position , so why won't we?

I think Smart at #5 would be a mistake.  So I guess that means I say trade it.
