Boozer, Butler, Hinrich (exp), Mirotic, 2014 1st, Charlotte's pick for Matthews, Aldridge. Who says no?

If that's an acceptable offer for Portland... would the celtics beat it with an Avery Bradley, Humphries (exp), 2 future firsts offer for just Aldridge.  Throw in one of Sullinger/Olynyk since we won't need as many front court bodies anyways.  The one year less on Humphries' contract frees up cap space a year sooner.

I'm not sure our offer is competitive there. Butler has proven more in a season than Bradley has in 3. Mirotic is by most counts the best NBA prospect currently playing in Europe. Charlotte's pick has about zero chance of falling outside the lottery, and Portland's team, if they made such a move, probably aren't as worried about Boozer's second year.

I believe the Blazers would say no.

Don't get me wrong, that's a pretty nice haul of young talent, and Chicago can and really should try to make a move to get younger by using those trade assets this season.

However, as I've already said, I think the Blazers can be competitive with their core group moving forward, and Aldridge, at 28, is the oldest of the bunch, and he should age well.

If all they had was Alridge and a bunch of role player types, that would be one thing.  But they have some pretty promising young talent on that team headlined by Lillard and Batum.  I think with that core group they're one or two smart free agent signings / sign-and-trades (a la David West and the Pacers) away from being a 50+ win team.

Speaking of a Chicago trade, perhaps the Celtics could try to offer some of their young depth to get one or more of the Bulls' assets?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p8clwv3

Deng + Hinrich + Snell

for

Green + Humphries + Bradley

Chicago gets a younger, more durable version of Deng for cheaper than what they'd probably have to pay Deng to keep him after this season.  Green could thrive as the complementary wing scorer for that team;  I think that's an ideal situation for him.  Humphries gives them useful depth at PF / C, which they lack.  Bradley could be really nice playing next to Derrick Rose or Marquis Teague; he's a pretty obvious upgrade over Hinrich at this point.

If the Bulls offer Mirotic + their 2014 1st OR the Charlotte pick in return, I think that'd be worth it.

Just wanted to add to this thread that I was suprised by Smarts recent measurments.

This might not be new to some but I was always under the impresion that smart was roughly Deron Williams size just a little heavier.

At the under 19 championsip he measured

with out shoes 6'2 226lbs 6'8 wing and 8'4 reach

by comparison D Williams pre draft
               6'1.75"   6'6.25 wing and 8'2 reach

I just thought this was interesting because it shows that he will have the size to guard all but the biggest NBA shooting guards

So, I may have been a BIT hasty with my Marcus Smart criticisms. 39 points just an all around dominant performance against Memphis.

When i looked at the scorebox i thought he shot a decent 5-9. But that was only his 3 pt shooting.

If he has improved his shooting this much, he will be one of the first guards drafted. Maybe over exum who also needs to improve his shot

Slightly unrelated, but:
Should he have declared in the draft that just passed? Wiggins and Parker are surely going to take the top 2 spots. Smart could have gotten the contract that a first overall gets.

He probably should have but he wanted to work on his shot and smooth out other parts of his game.  He is a stud, he will go 4th at the worst in this draft.  Any team that gets him is going to be lucky.  Him and Wiggins are the two best defenders in this draft too.  He is a complete player.  A lot of Dwade in his game.  I believe, him, Wiggins and Parker are all on tv today...

CHI would have to think long and hard about this, but I doubt they'd agree to it. They're so nicely positioned for the future. With the uncertainty around Rose's future, trading their 4 best young / future assets is a big risk.

Question is: can Deng, Aldridge and Noah compete for a title now? Too bad Portland doesn't have the assets to fetch Noah...

For all of those basketball junkies and pro tankers out there...Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Smart and Gordon all play on tv today.  Parker and Gordon against each other on ESPN at 6.....

Smart could fall out of the top 4 just by depth of the class.  Wiggins, Randle, and Parker are virtual locks for the top 3.  Then you have Exum, who could leap him.  It's also pretty much unheard of for the top 5 to go without at least one center being selected, if not 2.  Then there's always that high-riser throughout the year.  I wouldn't be surprised if Smart went in the top 4, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he fell as far as 8 (and boy, would some team get a steal at 8 if that were to happen).

Smart is back to playing not so elite. Shooting efficiency remains a concern.

He is a good all around player, but not franchise or take over imo. A third scoring option

Dante exum is the guy i want. He has the height , iq and his ability to drive and finish or drive and pass is elite. If he had a better shot , he would be a top three pick easily.

Still without a consistent jumper a top 6-7 pick. I pray danny can do something to get this kid if we are picking around the 10th spot

Keep him. He looks like a guy who would want to take over games, and can.

As of now I'd really have him over any of our SG's. He solves two problems while having a potential elite player, a backup PG and a one on one scorer.
