I am totally against bromenclature....the system of naming things with "bro" to make it sound like something weird between guys like bromance and broment, Brovember, bromentum, and bromium.

Watch your backs out there guys. This game has caught on.

I've heard of that game. Anyone that plays it is a terrorist and I hope every single one of them gets their heads blown off.

I drank alcoholic beverages last night and today I don't feel so good. I was at a union Christmas party. Open bars are no joke

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think that's annoying, and the people who write them are probably boring at parties.

EDIT: its annoying because of how poignant its meant to be, because it ultimately turned out extremely facile and simplistic. Its not annoying because of feminism. Feminism is fine. Some of my best friends are women. Hell I married one? Who are you calling a chauvinist? You don't know ME!!

Feminism is fine.

Like most things, feminism is fine until taken to extremes.  Some of the ultra-feminist theories out there are pretty kooky.

It's hilarious how sexist that picture / text is.  Is it suggesting that women can't have their own home without a man or her family providing her?  And what's with the obsession on body image?  That's without even getting into the "giving up her name" thing, or that this person thinks that marriage is about exchanging favors.

Sounds like a fairly shallow, vapid "feminist" wrote that one.

American Dad would have a good punchline or two about this topic.

Have any of you considered turning to a life of crime? (JSD OTT)

There seem to be a lot of highly educated people here on Celticsblog. I wonder, have any of you MD's, JD's, PhD's, MS, MA's, BS, BA's ever considered a life of crime thinking you're smart enough not to get caught? The rush of doing bad things might entice people too.

SO many bank robberies go unsolved. Some American statistics for you in this article - http://www.redding.com/news/2009/jul...-away-with-it/

lol. I had a friend in college who said if he never became a politician, he was going to enter into extra-legal activities.

And he said this in a very casual way, as if he were joking. I brought it up later in front of people, and he said, "I'd appreciate if you didn't do that again. I still want to go into politics. And if that doesn't work out, being a criminal will be tough if everyone knows I am one."

I don't think he ever did make it into office, but I haven't spoken to him in 10 years.

I have a BS in both Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering. I am on my way to holding a Professional Engineering License in the Commonwealth. I also (IMHO) have a Doctorate in Common Sense.

So many "dumb" criminals out there today. I without question could do a better job. Fortunately, my career has proven to be lucrative enough to overcome my student debt and life's expenses. Had I chosen a career industry with less demand and thus - less job security - and I lost that job, I would be tempted. Maybe not Heisenberg status, but I'm sure I could come up with something to pay the rent and put food on the table.

Did you explain to him that there's little to no difference between the two career paths?

A close friend of mine spent a year trafficking Mushrooms across state lines.  The stuff stayed in bags which he never touched.  He'd pick up the bags... drive them 5 states over and drop them off.  He was doing it while he was in College.  He convinced himself what he was doing what's too illegal since he never touched the stuff.  And aside from a couple times when a cop would be driving behind him, he felt it was relatively risk free as long as he was extremely careful as he was driving.  As always with those kind of stories, it eventually came crashing down.  He wanted a bigger cut... so he used his own money to buy a bunch of it... drove it several states over.. and then when he got to his destination, the goods were taken at gun point with no payment.  He was a little suburban white kid with no protection and no backers.  He couldn't do anything about it.  Just left the goods and left completely broke.

That's when he rededicated himself to his computer science degree.  He's now making like 150k a year.

Edit:  Forgot to mention he was paying for his tuition using the money.  His parents weren't helping him.  I think he ended up begging his fiance to take out some loans so they could survive.  He also worked full-time at a restaurant while going to school.
