Could not be more pumped to nab a player as good as Seraphin this late in the draft.

Kane knew I was going to be the first to blink in our trade discussions, but, even at the risk of making a conference rival stronger, I felt I had to turn DeRozan into a wing who could actually hit a three.

Need a follow up deal for roster balance, although Shump will see minutes at the 3.

I know terminology and position are fluid, but Gordon isn't a wing, just too small.

He's a PG/SG.

This really nukes any excitement I had for Golden State. They had a lot of talented individual pieces, but they weren't good fits alongside one another. Rather than moving them for a more cohesive unit, Golden State went out and made this problem even worse.

Interesting move here.

I'll add that this was a decent trade for OKC. They got the short end of the stick in terms of talent, but Derozan is simply a terrible piece alongside Rose/Dwight. Lucky's definitely moving towards the right direction by swapping him for a shooter like Gordon, but I can't help but wonder if better value could have been gotten in return for Derozan.

Yeah, that's been my issue with Golden State as well.  They're maybe the most talented team in the league, but they're a bit of a jumbled mess.

Taking on DeRozan just compounds that.  I don't like the kid as a player, and as Lucky just learned, he's got very little trade value.

When I said this deal was interesting... This was the exact thoughts going through my head. TP.

I explored trade potential for DeRozan in the DKC, in case I traded for him.  He basically has none.  Now, there, you have a salary cap, which makes a big difference, but I don't think I've ever seen a player who scores so much, but who is valued so little.

Yeah, I shopped DeRozan HARD before making this deal. Very few interested parties.

I like that trade for GSW.

Golden State already had two elite reserve combo guards in Lou Williams and Reggie Jackson so Ben Gordon value was minimized there. DeRozan, however, gives them a very different look at 6-6/6-7 220lbs. A big two guard with great athleticism. In terms of creating matchups, DeRozan is the more valuable piece to GSW.

I don't think I'd start DeRozan though. I think Brandon Rush as a defensive stopper is a better fit in the starting unit but I do like the options DeRozan brings off the bench as a backup SG.
