I tried to talk myself into drafting him. He'll certainly have the opportunity to play in Phoenix, but he's something on an enigma. He can stretch the floor, force turnovers, block shots, then again he's inefficient and terrible on the glass.

Here's Bright Side of the Suns final word:

Bad player + no improvement = D (I was tempted to go with D-)

It's a fair assessment for sure, but at this point in the draft, you can't go wrong with a big man with his sort of skill set and potential. The lack of development certainly concerns me, but Phoenix wasn't exactly a nurturing environment last year.

yup pretty much my assessment i wouldnt have taken him earlier of course but he could have a big season with the minutes he will be getting.

I ride for Burks. Jazz's starting shooting guard, draws fouls at a near elite level, could make the leap this season.

I've followed him since Colorado and while I was rooting for his success, I'm very skeptical of it. A lot of his offensive successes in college came from using his superior  athleticism and explosiveness to get into the paint for high percentage shots, but at the NBA level, those physical tools aren't as dominating anymore, and he's really struggled with his most comfortable method of attack. Without a reliable jumper, his offense is really shaky. Last year, he shot a putrid 26% (yes, 26%!!!) between 3-16 feet.
