That leaves 64 other games. Let's say we play around .650 ball the nights that KG plays. Pretty reasonable, I think. That gives us around 42 wins in those 64 games, making our overall record 52-30. Call it 50-32 if you wanna. That's a third or fourth seed right there, especially in the weaker of the two conferences.

I think that's pretty rational. I think .600 is closer to my expectations there with KG, but okay.

You'll get a bump.

Thank you sir.

And with that, I'm out.

So is Ron a Celtics fan? Just curious.

Yes, I am a Celtics fan just that it ticks me off how people praise KG and Rondo, but don't do the same for guys like Pierce and Ray.

So, to combat that, you downgrade the best PG the Celtics have had in at least 25 years and a top-two defensive player of his generation?

Yes.

Okay.  Well, fair warning, you just admitted to trolling.

Lol I was kidding and was looking for facts before I edited my post, but what do you mean by his generation? I mean as of now off the top of my head I'd put Duncan and Ben Wallace over him.

Wallace was a great post defender but in his prime KG could arguably giard all 5 positions.

So could Big Ben (defend all five positions). Chuck Hayes could too earlier in his career.

Freakishly quick/mobile + strong undersized big men.

I must say,Roy , I am mildly amused you have the Bucks missing the playoffs.  You might be the only one I've seen so far to feel that way.  I suppose you can't please everyone though.

I guess my main issue is your "disbelief" in Ryan Anderson and Emeka Okafor.  Every statistical metric available shows them to be above average starters.  So when you just don't happen to like a certain player, you choose to ignore the metrics?  But when they agree with your preconceived notion then the stats are meaningful?

I guess I'll just have to disagree with you on this.

Steve Nash in the 5th round might be the biggest value pick of the draft.  It still blows my mind that he fell that far.

Based on what name recognition or what he did last year? I mean he is now 39 will be 40 by the start of playoffs next year, had a DRtg of 111 and only played 50 games this season.

Yeah, I have trouble putting much faith in Nash too. Can't shake the sight of him hobbling around the court late last season unable to effect games in any positive way.

At 39 years old and will turn 40 during the season, it is hard to give Nash the benefit of the doubt that he will turn to his performance levels of his final season in Phoenix.

I had Nash as one of the lesser starting PGs in the league. A pretty good offensive threat but the weakest defender/rebounder amongst starting lead guards.

Tentative East Rankings:

IND
MIA
WASH
CHI
NY
CLE
MIL
ATL
ORL
BKN
DET

I don't feel great about these. I ranked every team 1-10, 10'being the best, 1 being the worst. LOTS of 6's and 7's.

Tell me why your team will consistently win during the regular season, these are very open to change.

I think this is pretty spot on.  Super duper stars combined with solid role players win in NBA.  Je suis tres pleased.

Who are Indiana's solid role players?  By my count, they have exactly one (Ray).  After that it's a bunch of bleh.  Not nearly enough to beat the more well rounded teams.

I differ with your evaluation then.  For instance I think Livingston brings more to the table than Bayless.  Also, this year and going forward I prefer Lopez to Okafor

Both of those statements are stretches to me. Okafor is a savy veteran who knows his role and can get 10 and 10 a night. Lopez put up ok numbers on a terrible team and is still figuring out his role.

Livingston has never done anything to prove his worth as a legit back up, mainly due to injuries.

Do love Brand. Like Knee said. Everything else is very bleh.

Surprised that you've got Atlanta ranked so low, when they feature two of the three best players from your Finals losing team from last season.

Very surprised that you have Washington so high as well. Nothing against Reeb but there is nothing there that suggests that Washington is a playoff team.

Okafor can't play as many minutes as Lopez, he's not as durable, Lopez has the better offensive game and is the higher energy player.  Okafor is the better rebounder and is slightly better in man to man defense at this stage of his career.

Livingston is a better passer, rebounder, and makes much better decisions than Bayless, he is also 6-7 which creates mismatches on the other teams PG's trying to defend him.  Bayless is more athletic but thats about it.
