Sorry to see Shav go. Liked him better that Wilcox in some ways (better rebounder and defender).

Any news on Wilcox? He is a free agent right...

Wilcox is pretty obviously not coming back to the Celtics.  The only whiff of a rumor about him that I have heard is that the Knicks might be interested, but he was basically a warm body in a long list of names and it seemed more based on the Knicks presumably having an interest in anyone with a pulse rather than verifiable interest.

Thant would leave Bass and Sulinger (Melo if he counts) as the only two who know the defense, assuming the defense does not change which it very well may.

I don't think the D will be nearly close to what we've come to expect over the last six or seven years.

I think we'll invite him back if we can trim a couple players off the roster.  it was just the Celtics did not want to guarantee his money.

I think DA would love to move Crawford and if we can manage to do that we might have more flexibility for end of roster players like Shavlik Randolph.  We'll just have to see how this turns out.  Cos with Sully's injury ?? and KO's plantar fasciitis, the C's can't have enough healthy big men imo.

But first to clear out the logjam at SG.  We got lots of them but they aren't very good...

Funny, I almost always forget about Cox. I like him. I doubt he stays anyway.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

If Rondo isn't ready at the start of the season, that logjam at SG won't seem so bad if Bradley and perhaps even Crawford are forced to spend at least part of games functioning as a point guard.

This team is shaping up to be the least watchable most deplorable team I've seen in my lifetime.  If Sully isn't back, Rondo isn't back, and Olynyk has foot problems I won't have a single reason to watch them.

yes of course. We need to do more trimming, not adding.

C - Sullinger/Hump/Faverani/Melo
pf - Olynyk/Bass/Hump
Sf - Green/Wallace
Sg - Bradley/Lee/Brooks/Bogans/Crawford
Pg - Rondo/Pressey/Brooks

Ideally we could do without Melo, Crawford and lee or bogans. But I don't mind keeping Melo at worse for another year to see if something magical will happen and crawford definitely has to go. Could also keep lee and bogans though one will definitely be disappointed just keeping the bench warm

If nobody wants crawford, can we just waive/amnesty him?

Yeah, but new coach, new defense. So technically NO one knows the defensive schemes.

Wilcox does not have a new contract with the Celts after last season;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

In my opinion, Shav is gone temporarily.

If Ainge guaranteed him, that weakens his bargaining position with other GMs in that they know Danny HAS to dump people for pennies on the dollar and also maybe having to give up a pick.

I'll bet Shav has been given a "wink, wink" that he'll be back as soon as they dump some of the deadweight. He's Ainge's type of player.

I can't fathom watching a team of Humphries, Brooks, Crawford, Bass, Lee and Unfab Melo.  Who would pay money to see that team?

I'll hold off on Mr. Indestructible since I've never seen him play.

That is six players I really don't like.  With Rondo, Sully, Olynyk, Pressey and Green as players I do like.  Typically you should like a majority of the players on your team.
