Apparently his camp has met with the Blazers to talk possible trade scenarios. LMA himself hasn't officially requested a trade, but he's definitely not opposed to the idea. Supposedly Portland is trying to swing for the fences with names like Noah, Love, Griffin, Horford, and Davis, and trading for draft picks will not be an option.

This makes little sense to me. Yes, LMA can't will you to a championship alone, but who can? Not Durant, Rose, Howard, anyone really aside from LeBron James.

He's better than anyone aside from playoffs-engaged Rondo on our roster, and even then, he likely has more value because he's a legit 4/5.

LA is a very underated basketball player. He has put up solid numbers in Portland for the last few years and has been the subject of double teams pretty much his entire career there. Pair him with Rose some how and i seriously think you have a championship team there. D rose and LA in a pick and roll/ pick and pop situation...... Deadly.

I'm a pretty big fan.  Not an ecstatic fan but he's an above average big.  Off the top of the head, I'd say he's a solid top-25 player, with more all-star games within him.  He's a bit like Toronto-era Chris Bosh but not as good a rebounder or at getting to the line. 

Any trade would have to be a three team deal but would he be satisfied here?  Without Rondo, with a big media presence, with a roster chock full of young players?  I can't see how.

Your DKC Portland bias is showing.

But I agree with you.  Whether somebody "will win you a championship" has everything to do with the talent they have around them.  Stars are important, but nobody can do it alone.
