I just watched a few highlights of this guy snd while it's a very, very limited sample I am thinking he has a little higher ceiling then Timmy D!

The guy has an almost perfect stroke and while he looks slow and awkward at times he also reminds me a little of Bird. Oh well, like I said, it was a two minute sample. Seriously though, his shooting looks excellent.

Lets just let him be Kelly Olynyk. Forget Dirk, Scola, Duncan, Tucan, or Goldilocks. He's his own man, own player. He's got the skill set & talent to be great. If he puts in the work it will happen. 3/4 years down the road , my guess is he's a solid nba player who could easily be an asset for any playoff team. Hopefully our playoff team.

I'm a little more curious what people think his defensive ceiling is. And what his rebounding ceiling is. Keep in mind that rebounding is something that might actually start happening in Boston again

He has more range than Tim Duncan.   Duncan is a totally different guy who shots more bank shots, they are not even close in terms of their skill sets.  TD is a way better rebounder and a better post defender.  I think Oly could end up a better passer.

It's one summer league game hardly a good sample to project one's career.

At this rate, by the end of Summer league his ceiling will be the best offensive player in the history of the NBA.

Eja, I think his defensive ceiling is Rick Smits, or Marc Jackson when he weighed about 260 pounds. Maybe Barkley his last year with the rockets. Adam Morrison. you get the idea.

Duncan had 27 games as a rookie where he scored 25+ points.  Anybody want to put bets on whether KO reaches that number? ;)

Honestly Roy If he gets major minutes this year. I'll go out and say he gets 25 points seven times this year. And 25 Next Year.

Olynyk's ceiling is Olajuwon because both of their last names start with O.

Classic CB. KO goes from garbage draft pick to Tim Duncan in one summer league game. I remember JJJ Moore and Xmas being valued high too!

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
I think a taller Luis Scola is Olynyk's ceiling (both offensively and defensively).

In a draft as crappy as 2013's, I'd say that's pretty good value at the #13 pick.

Olynyk ceiling might be scola but a 7 ft , more agile and three pt capable version.

If it all pans out lets say scola was once known as a poor man olynyk

I doubt his ceiling is one of the greatest power forwards of all time.

He plays nothing like Duncan.  I think his ceiling is more Nowitzki.  Has the range to shoot the 3 ball, but I don't think he can shoot as far as Dirk.  He also has a nice post game that is only going to get better.

Dirk isn't super athletic either imo, but the height advantage allows him to get off jumpshots that are nearly unblockable.  So if Olynyk turns into a poor man's Dirk, I think I'd be satisfied with that. 18ppg instead of 25ppg as a stretch 4 would be pretty darn valuable for us.
