I don't like Olynyk at all and I think he'll be a scrub in the league. Didn't like him coming into the Draft and seeing the Cs trade up for him was very annoying. We should've either taken Muhammad with that pick or had kept the 16th and taken Dieng, Plumlee or Gobert. Anyway, if Olynyk does succeed, I agree with the Scola comparison. Not a long time ago, he was one of the best post players in the league. Add a good jump shot and you got best-case KO.

Shabzz is a punk. Pouts when he doesn't get the ball. the guy had averaged less than an assist last year. You think a guy with the ball in his hands would have at least 2 or 3 apg.

When he got interviewed right after being drafted they asked him about playing with a passing pg like Rubio and he said its good because he likes to shoot it. Which doesn't spell out team ball at all.

The other guys like Dieng  and Plumlee are project guys. We already have one of those in Melo. Olynk is the closet to being NBA ready. The only negatives are his jumping and foot speed as of right now.

Hes a good shooter and passer with a pg mentality and High IQ. will he be a star? don't know, but Im thinking he could be as good as some of the top 10 in the draft, or as bad as the bottom 10. Just depends on how hard the kid works.
Shabazz was just another victim of the media last season. I think it was dumb to be angry at your teammate that scored the game winning shot didn't let you take it, but other than that, he was good. The age thing was his father's fault and I don't put against Bazz. Also, I wouldn't call Plumlee and Dieng projects. They're not as NBA ready as KO but they're both good defenders and rebounders. We're rebuilding so I'd be happy to get guys who have upside.

Shazz has character issues. Has more to do with his dad and people around him saying he's the man than his age. Maybe he will grow out of it, maybe maybe he wont. But with DA rebuilding and using prospects and pics to trade for better talent, you don't want some one with character issues when your trying to to that and you can't wait 5 years for it to happen.

KO is the best all around guy right now than any of those guys with good character. Im happy with this pick over any of the other guys that came after him.

Worse case like ive said before is luis scola. Which is nothing more than ok and helpful to get production off the bench.
I think you're underselling just how good Scola was his first few years after coming over.

If you can get Luis Scola production from the 13th pick you take it and run.

Scolas defense was avg to below avg when he came in the nba. Sure he can score 20 but the person he guarded also scored 20 or more.

Maybe i wasnt clear but what i mean is overall worse case.

Olynyk though should be better than scola. Already a better passer, ball handler, moves better and has 3 inch height adv
Actually, Luis Scola is more of a best-case scenario.

If Duncan is the ceiling, that ceiling is about a mile high and Olynyk is never reaching it. Isn't Duncan one of the 50 best players of all time?

Most would say one of the best 10 players of all time

Which makes Duncan as a ceiling even more silly.

Actually, Luis Scola is more of a best-case scenario.

The thing with Scola is that he entered the league around his prime at 27. Olynyk is coming in hot at 22. I agree that his best comparison is Scola, but his ceiling is certainly going to be higher.

Congrats he has one good SUMMER LEAGUE game and now you are talking about how you underestimated him when you said his offensive ceiling was Duncan. LOL

Well, he did qualify it as his offensive ceiling.   ;)

He's got the Scola hair, sure; but Scola is three inches shorter and a career .121 from the 3.

Duncan had 27 games as a rookie where he scored 25+ points.  Anybody want to put bets on whether KO reaches that number? ;)

So waaaaiiiitt a second.  His OFFENSIVE ceiling is Duncan, but his defense is horrid. Therefore you add them together and get a very good offensive player with no defense....does that mean his total ceiling is......Toine?

Ok, now I'm concerned.
