No.

I was looking into trading him with the Big 3 in town, but I'm quite high on the prospect of building a team with him having a bigger role and no players to defer to (regardless if we bring other star talent, they won't have the same weight Pierce and KG carried).

Only for a package that makes sense for the long-term vision of the team.

Do you trade Rondo for Danny Granger?  No

Rondo for Josh Smith in a sign-in-trade?  No

Rondo for a young talent (like Drummond), expiring contracts and/or a future 1st?   Absolutely.

We're looking at a 3-5 year rebuild.  Our coach was just hired on a 6 year deal.  This team isn't planning to be a contender until the Post-LeBron era.  By then Rondo will be well into his 30s and we'll need firepower to deal with Prime Kevin Durant.

No unless you get a deal you can't turn down, but that's how you have to feel about any player especially when you're rebuilding.  They are assets and if you can turn them into better assets then you have to consider it...

No.  RR is my fav player, I don't want to see him traded.  I think you can build with him and shorten the time to compete again.

But I would rather have the Celtics compete for championships than have my favorite player on the team.  So the only exception is an absolute sure fire can't turn it down deal.  The kind of deal that shortens the rebuild by years.  To me that means a very good established star, not a draft pick.

I think it's a real possibility that he is traded, and so I'm trying to warm myself to the possibility by thinking what we could get in return to help hedge disappointment, while understanding that I will probably be disappointed in what we get in return.  (Rondo to Utah for Trey Burke and picks please Danny, because it will make me less sad!)

No.

Not every year you can find an elite PG who can TAKE OVER games, especially in the Playoffs when the lights are brighter.

Unless we are getting a player who can perform the same way as he is, or a package of a starter level PG, a young talent who may not be a franchise player but could be very productive, along with picks, you don't trade Rondo. It's beyond stupid to do so.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Right now, no.  He's hurt and his value will therefore be diminished.  I don't like the idea of selling him at a discount because of impatience.

Later, it's important to remember that it's very unlikely that we return to thinking seriously about deep playoffs runs while Rondo is still a star.  That makes him something of a placeholder and therefore dispensable.  There's a chance that he could be our version of David West - the tough-minded veteran who leads the young stars into battle and shows them how to win - but it's much more likely he has moved on by that point.

So trade him when he's had a chance to reestablish value unless there's truly no market for him.  For the record, my stance on Jeff Green is similar:  give him the opportunity to put up stats as The Man and see if anybody bites.

I just don't see how he fits on this team, so unfortunately I would say I do want him traded.

Get something of value for him and get even worse, we could probably package Wallace with him if we aren't going to get someone with all-star potential back.

I'd hold out for a lottery pick, but I can't see why a terrible team would want Rondo. Fringe playoff teams acquiring him would probably make the playoffs with him.

Maybe NO would want him? For Gordon? Something big like Rondo, Bradley, Bass and one of our future firsts for Gordon, Vasquez, Lopez?

Unless its for Durant or Lebron (minus the flopping, diva attitude);

For Wade - Hell No.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

No.

Not now.

Not unless you get a better player (top 5) or Wiggins/Jabari.

He fits perfectly on this team.  He's a major asset and he won't help us win any games for half the season.  I can't think of anybody better to be honest.  When we get some major prospect and Rondo is healthy in 2015 throwing lobs to them, you're going to be ecstatic.
