Yes trade him before the other leg blows. This new Coach doesn't need a problem child on board. Too bad Rondo never matured into the player he could have been. He's broken now.

at this point, i dont care either way.  i dont think rondo is "that guy" that you can build around.  if he is your 3rd option, u are in terrific shape.  second option, meh maybe.  first option, nope.

Not sure. I imagine I'd be happy either way.

it will depend on his attitude with the new coach.

Hate to see him go,  but it might be better off to trade him than to chance him screwing up the locker room.

Either way , be ok to start with,  but I bet Danny has zero tolerance for Rondo at this point .  and he'll trade him in a NY sec for a good deal in his mind.

Highly suspect, Rondo is on the hot seat with Danny, no matter what DA says otherwise.

Maybe Rondo will grow up .

Depends entirely on what they get for him.  But fundamentally, yes, I believe it's time for the Cs to start fresh without him considering their intention to retool.

Basically, I don't see any real upside to him playing here, yet I see a very high risk of downside. And despite his injury, the state of his contract means now is the time to pull the trigger if ever.

No. This will be a great opportunity for him to show what he is really made of.

I think he will see this as his team now. That may be a role that he can excel at but we need to give him that chance.

Agreed largely.

However, I'd add that I have no interest whatsoever in a max contract for someone with Rondo's severe limitations - be they shooting, foul shooting, ambivalent defense or personality.

I'd say we have two years to move him. But I'm not going to give him anything remotely close to a max contract, either, so I don't see him here in three years.

I don't think Rondo is a #1, and I think we are going to suck next year no matter what, so I want the C's to be in the best position possible in 3 years from now. If that means keeping rondo, of course having to extend him by that time at about 15+ per year, then sure.

Own 2014, NJ 2014, Own 2015, LAC 2015, Green, Bradley, Sully Olynyk, Rondo, age 30 at about 15 mil per year

or

Own 2014, NJ 2014, Own 2015, LAC 2015,(own picks likely better in this scenario) Green, Bradley, Sully Olynyk, plus whatever Rondo fetches

I don't know. Don't give him away, but don't not listen to offers. We suck right now, it's not about the next 2 seasons.

I'd trade my grandmother if I liked the deal.

I am firmly in the "keep Rondo" camp, but you have to listen to offers.

Yes. If you get good drafts picks.
