Brad Stevens hired as next Celtics head coach

I, too am enthralled with this. I can feel he'll be a good coach, and his defensive schemes with good passing is what set him apart from most college coaches.

I hope Rondo will respect him, and in turn Stevens will respect him too.

I think that is a legitimate concern.  But I think most of the guys we have on our current roster are coach-able.  I think part of rebuilding is letting go of the players that won't buy in to what the new coach is doing.  If Stevens is as smart / good as his reputation he should be able to do it. 

If I was him, I would be reaching out to RR right now lol.  Get the other guy on the roster who is smart enough to coach on the same page as you before training camp starts.

So we ended up letting Doc go , getting a 1st rd pick for him , and pick up a great young coach that can develop talent . Love it!

agreed. player development is key here. even if we go 0-82 next year i will be watching my celtics young pups develop on NBA league pass!

I just realized the new head coach of the Celtics is only 6 years older than me.  That's weird.

Don't think about it, just EMBRACE it.

Oh I'm totally cool with it.  He can grow with the team over the next 3-5 years and maybe we'll be ready to compete eventually.

[dang]! yep. we are tanking for a couple years it looks like. DA will give him plenty time to learn on the job and see if he can develop players and play big ball with rebounding.
