Oh Toine...

I wouldn't mind him and Scal as assistants to be honest. As long as he doesn't give anyone advice on shooting 3's or hitting on 18

I would love to have Scal around as an assistant coach. The guy knows his stuff and seems to form great relationships with just about anyone he works with. He'd be another great person to have around for player development.

I don't really mind this choice.

At first I was like "who the hell is Brad Stevens?"

BUT, maybe he'll be a refreshing change from the philosophy this team was coached under the last few years.

Also fyi, PLEASE stop with the suggestions of Scalabrine being an assistant (lol.)

I can handle a college coach but not a former player who sucked.(joking, while being 100 percent serious.)

we are gonna have a bunch of  pretty young kids ,  with Rondp being the only older guy and star,  so DA will looking to land a potential star with our 15 win record next season

Vogel of the Pacers,  was a young coach ,   too, maybe with the correct work ethic this coach will succeed  as well........

he has the years ahead  to push though the ruff or lean years,  take some good young talent and mold a contender

why not ?      I'm on board ......   always can hire one of the reruns latter.

now Danny find us a GREAT Young center

Folks. This guy is not gone be one of assitant coaches...With Doc lasy years Cs having KG + PP got 41-40 score. This is a immature decision and you are gonna see what kind of wrong choice made our GM

Eugen, are u really a boston celtic fan? Or a KG/PP/Doc Fan?

Yur threads have become constant with their hate and vitriol against Danny and all other players/coaches not named KG/PP or Doc.

Its okay bro, let it go. Time to move on. Better seeing KG/PP ride into the sunset together. Heck even they would understand that their time is up. Who knows, maybe they approved their trade as well.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Great article on one of Steven's young analytic protege's, Drew Cannon, and possible someone that is coming with him to Boston.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/-college-basketball-mens-tournament/news/20130320/drew-cannon-butler/

Also here is a quote on Steven's coaching philosophy complied from various media outlets. Ask yourself if this sounds like a system Rajon Rondo fits well in.

Quote
Stevens' teams are built around solid basketball fundamentals and good team work, rather than individual basketball skill. His teams are known for their defense, forcing opponents into uncharacteristic mistakes. The secret to basketball – and life – is "just to do the job to the best of your ability and don't worry about anything else," Stevens says."Win the next game. Win the next possession. That's our focus. It's boring. It's also the way championships are won", he says. In short, Stevens is a strong believer in "The Butler Way" – doing all the little things that transform a group of good basketball players into a great basketball team.[19] "I tell the players 'the Butler Way' isn't easy to define," Stevens says, "but you can see it on the floor when we share the basketball, play with great energy and defend."
Stevens prefers to recruit strong team players instead of going after "top recruits. The guys we [have] recruited, most of them weren't very highly ranked," Stevens says. "They had very good high school careers or careers at other places (transfers), but for one reason or the other they weren't seen as great players. But they all had intangibles." Stevens puts a strong emphasis on education and has said he would only recruit a "one and done" player if he was committed to getting his degree while playing professionally.

love this philosophy.  so refreshing in a time where its about individual success.  Very much in line with traditional C's lore as well I beleive.  So much better than watching Doc's iso.  This is why I thought Doc was a horrible COACH.  motivating and bendin over for vets...yes..coaching..no way!  Should be fun to watch.

Steven's may bring a refreshing philosophy, but the grind of the NBA season will test it.  He'll have to find a way to handle that grind himself as well as handle players who may not be able to go equally hard in each and every game.  That's reality.

Best of luck to the new coach!

Mark Jackson apparently agrees with you.
