RT @GregABedard ABC News reporting Hernandez destroyed home security system, cell phone handed over "in pieces."

Pretty awesome

Piece of crap.  I don't understand how people can root for scumbags like this.

That stunt pretty much confirms his involvement.

We don't even know if the report is true or not.

Also, he could just be pretty darn annoyed about people camping out on his lawn and harrassing him at the gas station.

Let's assume it's true.  Are you saying it's okay to impede a murder investigation, destroying evidence, if you're "annoyed"?

Of course not, but im going to wait until I call him a piece of crap and scumbag, we don't even know if he was the one that broke the equipment.

I will say, if he was involved it was probably pretty stupid to dump the body less than a mile from his house.

The guy was into drugs and allegedly mixed up with gangs.  He supposedly shot another dude in the face, and now he's reported to have destroyed evidence in a murder investigation.

I'm okay with "scumbag" and "piece of crap".

Question, as a lawyer, is it strange for somebody to get shot in the face in february and file a civil suit in June?

It probably depends on whether the shooter is gang-affiliated.

Especially since the cops were at his house regarding the survellence equipment early this morning and the Globe was reporting around 1 that the reports about a pending arrest were absolutely false per a state police source

Police plan to go back to the home of New England Patriot's tight end Aaron Hernandez today with another warrant based on evidence that "he destroyed his home security system,'' an investigator close to the case told ABC News.

The investigator, and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system - which included video surveillance - was smashed intentionally.

And a cell phone used by Hernandez was handed over to investigators "in pieces'' by his attorneys, the sources said.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.

Holy hell, this can't be real...

He certainly looks incredibly suspicious at this point.

Just for the record, I think he was living in that house with Several friends from his hometown in CT.  IT looks bad but its not necessarily his actions.

I'm not going to assume he killed somebody, but it clearly looks like he's covering up for whoever did.

Question:  if this was some random gang-connected drug user, and not a gang-connected drug-using football player for your favorite team, would you feel the same way?

Indeed.  He looks guilty of something, there's no doubt about it.

I guess this is the downside to drafting and signing guys regardless of their off-the-field issues.

As for the legal side of things, well, I don't think they can send him to jail for obstruction or destroying evidence or whatever unless they find something to indicate that there ever was evidence.  Which, you know, there won't be if those cleaning people did a good job.

It depends is this random person still incredibly wealthy with alot to lose and his friends are likely leaching off of him?  If so I'd say there is still a good chance that person wasnt involved.  Worst case like bleedgreen said, I don't think he killed anybody but was involved with the coverup.

I imagine the fact that the shooter is pretty wealthy and the guy who got shot can get him to pay a settlement (or, failing that, give him money in a civil case) is probably a big part of it, too.
