According to Chris Broussard Celtics management still want Doc to coach the team.

Seems questionable but possible.

If we are rebuilding then that's a questionable decision. If we are running the guys one more time, I think they're comfortable with it.
I don't care what the C's pay their coach. If he's the right guy for the team he's the right guy.

Ground's rumbling under entire NBA if #CP3's on loose: #Clippers didn't just lose coach he wanted. They lost KG, whom he wanted.

Bahahaha I can't wait till he bolts on this joke franchise. Danny is in charge now.

I could already hear Cuban or whoever "You really want to stay in LA, with those cheapskates?? They aren't going to surround you around anything look what happened with the Celtics."
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

Another example of why the Clippers are the worst franchise in sports.

Has anyone, ever, for even a fraction of a second, lamented the two number 1 picks that the Cs send out to acquire KG?

Yes, this is an older KG, but the two picks would have also given this large market team a FA magnet coach that would bring the franchise a cachet that it's never had.

Does anyone believe that Doc wouldn't have made the Clips much more of a draw for cheapie, ring chasing FAs, the kind of players a successful roster needs to surround their three big money stars in the new, punative, multiplier luxtax world of the NBA?

I hope CP3 bails on Sterling and these bunch of incompetents now.  Dallas would be a great place for him, and when they have Dirk playing for peanuts and another max player next to him the following season, they'll be a legit title contender.

Or maybe Ainge should spite the Clips by sending Pierce to Dallas so that Cuban can clear his books and sign CP3 and Howard this summer after releasing Pierce.

I hope they realize what stupidity they have done. And in that time, I hope Danny goes on them HARD! We have leverage now, ask for Bledsoe and a pick if they want to talk again or walk away.

I guarantee it's at least crossing Cuban's mind to make a run at KG himself, to make that exact point to CP.  They'd definitely wait to see what the Howard situation looks like first, though.

This day just got a thousand times better. Thank you Sterling for staying true to thyself!

I look forward to seeing Deandre and their late round draft pick sit on the bench during the playoffs next year. Oh wait, that is assuming Paul is still there and they dont hire another unproven coach.  8)

Thank you Danny for not caving into a franchise without any title banners and not making us watch that center shoot FT's.

If we could somehow help Paul join Howard in anywhere not named Los Angeles, this would be a great offseason.

KG is too passionate to play for the Clippers anyway. Why teach them how to win when they have Sterling to do is for them... :P

You don't really need KG if you have Dirk already, but I can appreciate the sentiment.

Word is that the deal is dead.

Now, obviously, no deal is dead until all star weekend, but what makes you think the celtics would entertain another phone call after the Clippers already balked twice?

KG is basically a full-time 5 now - that's where the Clippers would've put him (it's not like they were benching Blake) and where the Mavs presumably would too.

There could be a spacing issue there but not a lineup issue.

There's rumblings that Doc was advising the Clips on what to send to the Cs. That he wanted to coach Bledsoe and that he didn't want too much in future assets being traded away.

If that's the case, it's very disloyal to Boston. Doc and KG for Jordan and two firsts was fair to both clubs.  As with the sweetener of them taking Terry or Lee for Butler's expiring deal.

I can understand how Doc would want his neat team to have as many arrows in it's quiver as possible, but fleecing your old team as they give you your freedom from coaching a rebuilding team while setting you up on a top contender in a huge media market is being an ingrate.

KG + Dirk would be one of the most dynamic offensive front courts you'll ever see. They both are elite at stretching the floor, are elite at the post, and know how to score. I'm sure CP3 would love to play with them - pick and pop galore.

I could see it happening.

we can help dallas clear even more cap space by sending PP for Marion and # 13

All of a sudden they have cap space to add both Dwight Howard and CP3 to Dirk

No income tax in Dallas
