I'm confused why people are upset about this. If we can unload Terry and/or Lee that is a win.

I really don't care about Doc, and KG's 25 mpg will be missed but it is time to turn the page.

If you don't like Jordan that's fine, but it would give us a center + he could be a chip in the future.

Why is unloading Terry/Lee a win? Cap space isn't a big deal when you're rebuilding. It's more important to add young assets like Bledsoe.

Now the Clips are balking on Lee or Terry?

I say scale this whole thing back and only let Doc go for picks.  No use doing a bad trade for the rest of the deal.

reports coming out now that the Clippers are unwilling to take on Lee or Terry.

So let me get this straight, they are unwilling to part with Bledsoe so we counter (which I think we shouldn't have) and say we will accept no Bledsoe if you take on a contract and now they are unwilling to do that?

I would tell them to go pound sand and make it my mission to facilitate a trade in which gets CP3 and Howard together somewhere else. Jackoffs

Celtics are waiting to hear from Clippers on a couple of options that would give Boston payroll flexibility in Doc Rivers deal, sources say.

Celtics and Clippers haven't gone to sleep. Sides still mulling offers.

This kind of report is a little depressing.  Looks like Butler gets included with Lee and/or Jet going.  Maybe a good move in the long run but not very exciting -- no assets other than DJ and the pick.
Danny is getting bent over here smh

clips should just throw in bledsoe since cp3 is a lock with rivers and kg in the fold, i mean do they really want our bad contracts? just put in bledsoe and get this over with, and we might waive pierce for you

I'm at work -- did Wojo ever appear on WEEI?

I listened for an hour and a half and they got into hockey so I quit listening and he never came on.

Indeed, which is why the C's asked for Bledsoe first.

Once that wasn't going to happen, then clearing salary became the focus.

And yes its very important for a rebuild because cap space = freedom. Freedom to make uneven trades, freedom to sign big impact FAs, and freedom to facilitate trades and acquire assets for it.

There isn't one road to rebuilding.

The Heat were basically a rebuild.  The team was awful, they managed cap space and landed the three best FAs.

Getting draft picks is a viable option.  So is financial flexibility.  So is collecting assets.

I prefer the asset route but if we can't get Bledsoe we can't.  Not sending them Terry and Lee though is unacceptable.

Yeah Jordan and a lowish pick isn't enough for Doc/KG.

*shrug* I just want this settled now.

Important to note: Celtics won't do a bad deal to accomplish these goals. Trade has to make sense as they set table for quick rebuild.

The Heat were a five seed in the east.

That's not awful.

Not awful (hyperbole, sorry)... but it's the East.  And we saw how they performed in the playoffs.

They had no shot at a title, and that was their goal.

Hypothetically we could have  situation where you land enough free agents to make a drastic jump in your team quality though if you have the ability to do so, that's the point.

Same. Clips are such a badly run franchise... just take Terry or Lee's contract for god sakes with their next year's team a guy like Terry could actually help
