Celtics are waiting to hear from Clippers on a couple of options that would give Boston payroll flexibility in Doc Rivers deal, sources say.

Celtics and Clippers haven't gone to sleep. Sides still mulling offers.

This kind of report is a little depressing.  Looks like Butler gets included with Lee and/or Jet going.  Maybe a good move in the long run but not very exciting -- no assets other than DJ and the pick.
Danny is getting bent over here smh

In his defense, the Clippers have us by the balls.

If Doc wants to join them, what is he supposed to do? Keep a coach who doesn´t want to work for you? That´s a recipe for disaster.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

This waiting period is getting old. Clippers need to accept something already.

If Doc doesn't want to coach here, he can sit out 3 years.

Since we all seem to agree we aren't a contender next year.  I don't see how it matters really who coaches.  Doc coaches next year and doesn't like loosing and rebuilding and resigns at the end of the year.  Fine, move on.  Doc resigns before the start of the season because he doesn't want to coach a rebuilder, fine move on.  How is either option a disaster for the C's?

Screw the Clippers, Danny needs to tell them to decide on the two options discussed, one with Bledsoe and the one they just talked about and walk away. Clips are trying to be cute thinking Danny needs to do this when actually they need it more. Either way we are rebuilding

iwonder if the Clippers need CP3 commitment in writing  , before accepting any Celtics deal.

Seems that might take a day to lawyer that up correctly

or all parties might want a night to sleep on it.

And Cp3 has them by the gonads. Call their bluff, say you're content to let Doc stew for 3 yrs if he doesn't want to come back. Amnesty Pierce, KG retires and we arrange a buyout for the rest of his contract. I mean honestly, I'm not interested in doing the Clippers a solid. Get something out of this or walk away.

I would of said no once they took out Bledsoe but now they won't even take a contract back?

For the love of god Danny, please just walk away.

Trade talks between the Celtics and Clippers have reportedly hit another snag over L.A.'s unwillingness to accept the contract of either Jason Terry or Courtney Lee.

The Celtics have conceded that they won't pry Eric Bledsoe away from the Clippers, but so far they aren't budging on the inclusion of Terry or Lee. It's possible that a third team will get involved to facilitate a trade, and Caron Butler could become part of the deal, but for now the two sides continue to negotiate and mull their options. Stay tuned

So they dont want to give us bledsoe
They wont take lee or terry
Ainge needs to say forget it then

Either we get our fair value, or we screw them over. At the end of the day, we'll still get something for them (cap space).

Doc is not too old to rebuild a team.   Matter fact he could do it 3 X over even at his age

I don't understand .... your getting millions to show up at work and coach ball....

I would gladly trade jobs .

Coaching younger players and building something you can call your own would mean more to me ...

Guess I'm just old fashioned

I would literally stop calling them AND stop accepting their calls. That they have the audacity to try and rob us like that shows that we should not do business with them, even if they give in.

Time to find a new trading partner. I'm sure KG would follow Doc and Pierce anywhere they went together.

The clippers are unbelievable.

Walk away danny, walk away.  It wasn't an amazing deal for us.  Call Doc's bluff and let him resign.  He can sit out 3 years and come back to coaching later.  If KG really loves being a celtic, then play your last year with us.  Otherwise retire, and file the paperwork so we get the cap relief.
