As a head coach?
I'd say pass to Bird, Sloan, Collins, Frank, and Brown. I have a hunch Sloan and Brown are simply too old to really adapt to the changes in the game anymore, though they were unquestionably great coaches in their day.
No thanks to Doug Collins and Lawrence Frank because, you know, I've watched the Sixers and the Pistons for the last couple of years.
I don't see Bird as a realistic option. Same goes for Phil Jackson.
So, from that list, I'd be happy with Karl, Stan Van, or Hollins. SVG is probably the best coach of the three in terms of rotations and getting players to commit to roles, so he'd be my first choice.
Also he's Dwight insurance. Insurance that I never have to cheer for Dwight.
