I voted Sloan, for his toughness and discipline and basketball mind, which would be good for a young team.

I would change my vote, though, if Rondo were still here. That combination looks like a really bad car crash waiting to happen.

The mods should probably merge this with the other similar thread, but I like this one because it has a poll.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I think George Karl would be the perfect coach. Especially with his fast break schemes, and offensive plays now that most of our players can attack through fast breaks.

The only problem is Karl has a very weak defensive system.

Lawrence Frank. Somehow he already knows the system...

I'd want nothing to do with Lawrence Frank. I think he's shown from his days in Detroit and when he was assistant here in Boston that he's just not a very good coach.

As a head coach?

I'd say pass to Bird, Sloan, Collins, Frank, and Brown. I have a hunch Sloan and Brown are simply too old to really adapt to the changes in the game anymore, though they were unquestionably great coaches in their day.

No thanks to Doug Collins and Lawrence Frank because, you know, I've watched the Sixers and the Pistons for the last couple of years.

I don't see Bird as a realistic option. Same goes for Phil Jackson.

So, from that list, I'd be happy with Karl, Stan Van, or Hollins. SVG is probably the best coach of the three in terms of rotations and getting players to commit to roles, so he'd be my first choice.

Also he's Dwight insurance. Insurance that I never have to cheer for Dwight.

Any chance Jeff Van Gundy would leave the booth for the bench?

Out of that list my but feeling is DA would pick Frank. Another thought I had was Tyrone Lue. He is said to have a good relationship with Rondo. As long as he is allowed to pick up expensive veteran assistant I would be all for giving a new face a shot. This especially hold true with this likely being a reload year.

My first choice is Jerry Sloan. After that could be Geerge Karl and Van Gundy or Phil Jackson
