  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Works for MIA, why not?

Ok your whole premise got dismantled.   The thing did not work too well for Detroit.

Or you could just have 2 of the top 5 players in the world including the top player in the world with one of the top 10 bigs in the world. Funnily enough the Mavs beat the Heat by going big.
Two All Star big men on the same team, surrounded by great shooters and a distributor= recipe for success. You still need at least one near All star or top 20 SF or SG though.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

It is probably harder to get Lebron right now versus getting two talented big men.

And I wouldn't be shocked if the Heat spent part of this offseason trying to find their defensive big man who is more of a rock then a weakside defender.

And when the Heat play Lebron at PF, they are not going small.  They are going fast.

To be a contender, sign two big centers in order to win in NBA. This is my conclusion in order to do the great thing, winning NBA title. See the Indys center tandem West-Hibbert or SAS tandem Splitter-Duncan, and you can dominate te basket and score.

I totally agree, this is what the Lakers have done for years.

I would draft 2 centers every year and TRADE THE WEAKEST off for everything else I needed.

Or they're just using a lineup that allows them to put their best players on the floor.  Which means 3 wings, LeBron, and Bosh.

Lebron is close in size, stronger, and much faster and more explosive than almost all PFs in the league.  Most PFs are under 6'10 these days, with quite a few around 6'8 or 9.

That's why Lebron can play PF; it might be a bigger advantage than having him at SF.

Let's see, we were contenders last year (minutes away from the Finals) and we didn't have "two big centers"...

We were minutes away from the finals, but I don't really think we were contenders in any serious sense--especially how the Rose, Rondo, and Bosh injuries shaped that playoff landscape.

Now imagine where the team could have been if they had had that other big that year.

Eh, had we won the championship, it would have been #18, not #17½.

Or how quickly that series would have been over (4, 5 games max, but not the 6 it went) if Miami had had all 3 of their stars for the whole series.  The Bosh injury is the reason it looked more competitive than it probably should have been, sad to say.
