I would be very happy if this is how the offseason turns out. I would also be ok with Josh Smith replacing Jefferson in this scenario.

Even though I'd rather have Chris Paul over Blake, I would actualy LOVE if this trade happened for the Celtics sake.

And one thing I am surprised no one has mentioned:

If this were to happen, the Celtics win this trade by a landslide!!

Hell if the Clips are going to take the old guys of our hands, they can also have Jason Terry too.

Also, am I crazy to think that with this trade, the Celtics are still possibly a playoff contender?

As for the Clips, this is a dead end for them, which is why I don't think they'll do it. I mean how on earth do the Clipper plan to conted with a 37 year old KG and a 36 year old Paul Pierce.

And good luck with Pierce in the playoffs. He was a total dud in the playoff this year.

I say the Celtics make out like bandits and hope this happens. I also think Avery Johnson would be a very good replacement for Doc as I think it's Doc's time to go too.

Finally, imagine if the Celts could also deal Rondo to Utah in a S & T for Al Jefferson. Our starting lineup would be

Bledsoe - PG
Bradley -SG
Green _SF
Blake - PF
Al Jeff - C

with Sully, Lee, Bass, Melo, Crawford and Caron Butler all coming off the bench. Not too shabby.

Isn't this the Stephen A Smith rumor?

Edit: Yep. What's the journalistic equivalent of a "retweet"? Actually, using the term "journalistic" might be a bit of a stretch.

Haha this rumor is so hilariously terrible.

Imagine if we then flipped rondo and bass to sactown for cousins, Evans, and a bad contract filler... Our lineup could be:

Bledsoe/terry
Evans/Bradley
Green/butler
Griffin/sully
Cousins/Jordan

Haha how exciting would that team be? Crazy.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This reporter is some hack trying to get hits on his rehashed, garbage article.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Goodness i thought this had some fire to it. Just saying what SAS said. Well who knows. I'm sure there will be more rumors. Soon Could you imagine though? I would try and flip Rondo and DeAndre for something like someone said above Cousins and Tyreke. Gotta have a big man that can shoot with blake cause he cant.

This reporter is some hack trying to get hits on his rehashed, garbage article.

He's not even a reporter!!  He's in yahoo's "contributing network".  Yahoo has to do a much better job making this clearer and making clear exactly what this means.  Looking at the author's "bio", this is what it says:

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq

the thing is, SAS for all his bluster has very reliable sources and his intel is very good.  I didn't hear the original segment so I have no idea if he was reporting this with sources or if he was just pondering out loud.

If you get Griffin and Jordan there's no reason to take on a head case and a volume shooter like Cousins and Evans.
